What's new

Game Thread Feb 26, 2021 6:00PM MT: Jazz at Heat

Added to Calendar: 02-26-21

Jazz just blew them out 2 weeks ago. Jazz were up 21 by the middle of the 3rd quarter and held the lead the rest of the way. That was without Conley, and it was one of our worst 3pt shooting games of the year (26%). Clarkson was 4/15 that game.

I think we'd have to bungle this something special to lose, tbh. It really should be a double-digit win.

This will likely be a tough game. Not sure if Herro is playing. The Miami flu is real... the Heat seem to be playing more like themselves.

If I eat more Dannon, will that increase your ability to get paid to watch Jazz games?
Unlikely
But being the hustler that I am, I figured out a way to work it out tonight.
Jazz are must see tv

Call in dead. Works for me!

I have had a rough week, and I just got a new percocet prescription, so I will double enjoy the win tonight!

(or, I will cry huge overly-emotional angry crocodile tears and throw my ice cream spoon across the living room if we, heaven forbid, lose...the price you pay for high highs is the possibility of low lows...oh well, still taking my percocet!!)
I want some Percocet!

We have a big lead in the standings... you know who doesn’t have a big lead in life... some disadvantaged kid out there without hope of attending college. The Hydra is that kid's hope of a better life for him and his future progeny.

Must. Win. Game.
40 years from now the cure for cancer will be found and it will be by a kid who went to college on this Miami win.
I'm give these the co-posts of the thread award.
I know it's early but I don't care

Really hoping for a wire to wire win tonight. Will pay dividends for our confidence on this road trip.

Sorta off topic - mostly off topic. Was checking out espn for a second to get their basic thoughts on the game....

When did espn get so heavily focused on gambling lines? It must be huge for viewership, as it's featured once every 10 minutes or so, but this is a recent phenomenon, right? I suppose the combination of recently legalized online sports betting and quarantine will do that, but I was surprised.

Exactly

More than $20 billion has been bet with U.S. sportsbooks since the Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 on May 14, 2018. The federal statute, commonly referred to as PASPA, had restricted regulated sports betting to primarily Nevada for 26 years, before being ruled unconstitutional.

Eighteen states -- representing just over 30% of the U.S. population -- now have regulated sports betting markets, with several more on deck. The District of Columbia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Washington and Virginia have passed legislation, and 16 additional states have active sports betting bills, according to the American Gaming Association. In the coming years, industry authorities expect more than half the states in the U.S. to offer legal sports betting.
