I waited a bit, but now confirmed .. Jazz in Indy recently to watch DMiller and seem to be trying to make something happen for him.

Here's why MKG not being able to shoot is a problem. There are other athletes in the NBA that can manage his athleticism, it's not like he's LeBron or anything. Therefore, they're going to be able to lay off of him and let me tell you something, it's not easy to drive on a guy when he's already 5 feet off of you. I'm not arguing MKG's intangibles or his defense, but his offense is a major, major problem and you're fooling yourself if you think it isn't. It would be one thing if I thought he could fix his shot, but he can't. It's one of the ugliest shots I've ever seen, and it hasn't improved since he was a nationally recognized prospect in his beginning stages of high school...it's not going to improve in the NBA either. Come at me bro.

Are we supposed to expect him to be better than Gerald Wallace? And I've never been much of a fan of G Wallace.
 
I would be happy to come away with Miller. Or Jeff Taylor. Or Jae Crowder (my personal favorite).

A roll of the dice on O'Quinn, Plumlee, Moultrie (if he just found his way sliding), and with Al out of the picture. And after Kanter wrecks shop for Turkey this summer (that's happening again this year, right?).

I'm sorry, baby, but I'm all about the truth (as I see it, at least).

But I can believe certain pro-Wallace jabber depending on the source, too. Just... not for me.

But then again, if you know how to coach and have the right roster and culture, you can have a Kawhi Leonard (and GOD DAMN, am I looking wrong about my appraisal). Even though those situations are rare and hard to build.

Point is, I think destiny and context is guiding him more than the other way around.

D-Miller would be cool. It would just be a little anticlimactic after thinking we would have 2 lottery picks. But he would be a good addition.

Just because MKG hasn't improved his shot doesn't mean he can't when he gets to the NBA. Just look at Rondo, coming out of college his major weakness was shooting. He isn't a great shooter but he certainly is a lot better than he was coming out of college. Westbrook had the same complaint even though his stroke wasn't that bad. Magic Johnson was not a great outside shooter either but he improved a lot once he got into the NBA. Karl Malone improved his FT and added his fade away jumper to his game. There are several examples of players with unorthodox shots that were able to be decent scorers.(Barbosa, Marion, Pippen, Jamal Wilkes and Magic). Will MKG lead the league in scoring? Absolutely not but can he be a player who averages 17 or 18 pts a game. Yea I think that is possible.

You say that MKG has known since high school his jump shot was an issue. Your conclusion is that he should have already fixed it. Really? Are all players finished products coming out of high school? How much time does he have to actually train while he is in high school (being a kid and playing tournaments all summer) and one year of college (being a student)? When players enter the NBA they have a lot more time to work on their game besides having access to better training. Will MKG ever be a great shooter? I think it is too early to tell but with his work ethic and passion for the game I think the probability is very high that he can improve his shooting enough to be a great player. I think his greatness will be in filling up the box score and not just being a scorer.

I would kind of want to throw up if we got Miller in the 1st round. I would rather take Crowder actually.

Whenever I watched Miller at UK, I had to double check his profile because I never believed he was 6'8 because he plays like he is 6'3. Ironically, Crowder is 6'3 (without shoes) but plays like he is 6'8.

Not that I think Miller would be a terrible pick, but he is just so boring.

Lol at being a "student" at UK. Look, this kid has been called a pro prospect for a long time, at one point he was the next LeBron. The kid that get those labels, they don't do anything but basketball. Hell, we even heard from PKM this year how Kentucky worked on MKG's shot all year and there just wasn't any improvement.

I don't care how hard he tries, unless if he cpletely retools his shot he will never have a consistent shot. His release point is all over the place. Do you know how many people successfully completely retool their shot form in the NBA? Probably none.
