Following potential 2012 draftees

The reps I've seen from Royce White so far in the combine (for how crappy it is because they like to cut to Chad Ford's ugly *** face for 30 seconds so I can see him talk, or they do an awkward close up on a guy's face for a 1 minute) I like him even more. The guy is punishing down low and Terrance Jones couldn't guard him in the post on the 1 on 1 drills.

I have the combine recording so that I can watch it later. I appreciate the updates.

It's frustratingly bad because of how much you are either watching a close up of Chad Ford's face, a close up of a player's face, pointless video or stat sheets, or just nothing at all.

They did do a decent job of showing the 1 on 1 PF post-up drills towards the end though.

Is that where you saw White?

Yeah, you can really tell the amount of power he has in the post, very Kanter like. He has a lot of quickness down low too with his spin moves.

I think Terrance Jones fouled him every time because White was able to completely move Jones, then Jones had to hack him so it wouldn't look like as bad as it was.

I need to know Cy, say the Jazz get a pick in the early 20's who would you get? Assume that anyone that is being projected from about 18 and beyond is still available. Please make a list if you would.

Using the DX Mock draft here would be my top 5.

1. Jeff Taylor. I love that he is a lock-down defensive player and isn't an offensive liability as he can finish in transition and shoot the ball.
2. Arnett Moultrie. Elite athlete with length at the PF position. Skilled enough to hit midrange on a consistent basis and rebounds very well. If he is our 3rd big would be one of the best in the league before rookie contract ends and would be a big trade piece if he doesn't end up being better than Kanter.
3. Royce White. Unique player, would be super fun to watch him develop.
4. Moe Harkless. Athlete with a lot of potential to be a pretty good SF. Can't shoot though.
5. Quincy Miller. Guy I use to love in the lottery, I just see bust written all over him. Slow shot, weak body, tweener game, low motor. Still, if he can develop himself, he could be a very good player.

I really like your list. I like the names. Here is my list:

Moultrie
Miller
White
Taylor
Harkless

We can agree on the names, but the order is slightly different.

From all the tweets I'm getting, it seems like Lilliard is raising his stock the most.
And Tony Wroten is a 6'6'' PG.

Love or hate Hollinger I don't care. I thought this was an interesting statement for two obvious reasons:

Jim (Cleveland)

Does Harrison Barnes make most sense at #4 for Cleveland and if so, what's his ceiling? I feel like he is vastly overrated.

John Hollinger (12:42 PM)

I share your concern; I think he's a wing jump shooter with size, but I don't think he has great instincts as a scorer or finisher. There are other 3s I like better, particularly Quincy Miller; I think everybody is completely sleeping on that kid.

Thoughts?

At 4 you're probably going to have a chance at MKG or Beal. After that, Barnes makes sense. It's reaching though.

I was pointing out that Barnes is overrated and that Miller is a big time sleeper. I love using isolated people that agree with me to prove my point.

I see Quincy Miller as a potential game-changing player, just because he can do a number of things at his size, and freak athleticism is a bit overrated. He's got to get healthy and stronger, but he's young. I could see him in the 9 - 14 range.

FWIW, Tracy McGrady had a low release point on his jumper. Didn't hurt him at all. Miller has some of the same instincts and versatility.

Chad Ford on Tony Wroten's workout today

"Wroten will go to a team that can bring him along slowly like Boston was able to do with Avery Bradley. For that reason, we could see Wroten slipping to the back end of the first round, but a 6-foot-6 point guard with huge potential could be too much for a team to pass up somewhere in the middle of Round 1. Ford has him going No. 23 to Atlanta in the latest Mock Draft, which is exactly the sort of situation -- playing behind rising point guard Jeff Teague -- that would suit him well"

Lillard and Wroten a possibility?

Great points. The Jazz need scoring from the wing and he can provide that.

I've not seen many people question QMiller's upside. At the beginning of this thread I called QMiller a top 3 talent ... but his drive is highly in question.
