What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

Lillard has roughly the same length as Hayward.

If I have to listen to Harping talk about Hayward's "length" again, I'm going to ****ing scream.

If what MKG brings to the table is primarily length and heart and is top 3, I'll take my chances with heart, mind, and has something resembling a jumpshot in the 2nd round.

Care to guess who?

Coming a bit late to this, so just a few thoughts on measurements:

Many players measured quite well in comparison with measurements in previous years and even expectations (Rivers, Crowder, D Miller, Leonard, Lillard, Ross, Robinson, etc, etc.). Were measurements generous across the board, somehow?

Good to see D Miller measured as well as he did. Back into the discussion as more desirable for the Jazz (more legit SF size)?

Lillard is within 1/4 inch of DWill with better reach/wingspan. With scouts raving about shooting, 1-on-1 skills in drills, along with quickness, finishing ability and athleticism I see on video, I'm smitten. I think athleticism is underrated because he's so smooth -- hits second and third gear without even appearing to do so. Apparently very good iso defender, though bad (for now) off-the-ball defender. I think the Jazz could do well with him even though he lacks great court vision. Certainly seems to be the right kind of kid for Jazz.

CORRECTION: Lillard same height as DWill, larger wingspan, shorter reach

Reading about measurements, I'm convinced a lot of perimeter players don't exactly "reach" all the way on their max reach measurements so that their verticals look higher.

Also, with Crowder, he looks 6'5 with shoes on. His measurements have been all over the place, but I don't buy that he is near 6'7 with shoes on (what the latest NBA Combine says).

Plenty are saying Lillard will be the steal of this draft. He's already projected as high as 6. Although not out of the ordinary in mock drafts, it is quite an impressive leap for a kid from a smaller college.

Is it just me or do the standing reaches not look right?
For example:

Andre Drummond:
Hieght w/shoes
6' 11.75"
Wingspan
7' 6.25"
Reach
9' 1.5"

Carlos Boozer...
Hieght w/ shoes
6' 9.5"
Wingspan
7' 2.25"
Reach
9' 0.5"- 1 '' smaller than Drummond!!?!?!?

Hell, let's make PKM mad.
Anthony Davis:
Hieght w/ shoes
6'10.5''
Wingspan
7' 5.5"
Reach
9' 0" Smaller than Boozer?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Drummond is practically a legit 7 footer with a 7'6 wingspan? Yeah, I'd take him at #2.

Not sure what the deal is with his reach, but looking at his highlights, you know the dude is very athletic.

Well, his wingspan might be heavily composed of his shoulders, which would give him a lower standing reach. His shoulders might be positioned lower than others relative to height due to long neck/head. Stuff like that factors into it.

Not saying he won't go as high as 6, but I'm thinking he slips a little on draft night. Every year a guard gets hyped coming out of the combine, then the bigs jump up the draft board as June 30th approaches. GMs just can't pass on a potential pf/c.

I don't think Lillard will drop past 10. I could see Marshall dropping out of the lottery with people like Waiters, Leonard, and Ross potentially rising over him.

Rick Bonnell: Michael Kidd-Gichristist is painfully anxious speaking in public. You'll see what I mean when he visits #Bobcats. I feel for him.

But can he dance to hip hop in front of 10k people without a warning? Kentucky ought to do something to help all their high draft picks.

He has a speaking impediment/stutter. Sheesh. (not talking to you Mellow)

By the way, hear's an article with some really good info.

I knew White would kill the interviews. He is really well spoken and self aware, especially for a basketball player.

Agreed with what they are saying on Miller. The guy looked flat out sorry in the workouts. If I didn't know he was super long, I wouldn't really care who he was. I think I'm 100% off the Miller bandwagon now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Robbie Hummel has a better career than Miller.
