Larkin looks fantastic on video. Under control, plays well at different speeds, changes speeds well, fantastic motor/competitiveness. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the best point guard in this year's class (not saying he will be, but other than his height/length, what are his weaknesses?). I'd be pleased as punch if the Jazz grab him at 21.

Hopefully the people at DX post a write-up at some point with the relevant synergysports stats. That'll help us have a better indication how well he does in different situations (including at the rim).

After Thomas dropped to what, 46 last year, I wonder if leapers will get more attention.

If we did this, we could use two of those three picks and maybe get a better pick, or one next year. Flexibility.

dude its not paying 10mil, its clearing 10 mil from the salary cap(to pay the kids who deserve it, at a later time) in return for a shot at a kid who could over perform his rookie contract and then be restricted if worthy of signing to a 5 year contract, that works for us and millsap who will be headed somewhere to fill a need

its milsaps time to go, favors is better, and ready. milsap deserves time, he cant get that here.. if we can return a great 20 year old on a 4 year rookie deal,from milsap whos played over his paygrade everyseason its win for the jazz, win for millsap, and win for the team that gets him
 
I'm intrigued by the sign and trade Millsap for K Hump and the #26 idea.

Adds salary for us, doesnt make us better, doesnt bring in someone who will steal playing time from Kanter and Favors, contract expires at the end of the year.

How much more salary do we need to add?

Humphries makes ten. Million. Dollars.

It's stupid wasting that kind of cap space for a terrible pick when you can get ten times more at the deadline. Hell, jazz could buy a better pick from la for six million. Dumbest idea I've read in a month
 
I wouldn't bet that a player entering the league between the 2nd and 4th smallest player in the NBA would succeed, but he definitely compares favorably to JJ Barea upon entering the league (although he didn't cost an asset since he went undrafted) and probably compares favorably to Isaiah Thomas upon entering the league (it's more debateable, but Thomas was drafted last in the draft). There's obviously the Nate Robinson comparison as well where he was drafted 21st interestingly enough and whose athletic testing numbers are eerily similar to Larkin's (but while being shorter, is longer, has a taller reach, and is/was probably stronger).

So yeah, maybe Larkin is for real. But size does matter, especially defensively and that is something I really, really hope this team at some point gets figured out and truly commits itself to.

nooo humphries expires with favors so its negligible, thats the way i see it, plus humphries can give us servicable minutes at 4 and 5, and not be the malcontent millsap is and will be if he gets benched for favors.

this is exactly why millsap must go because if hes resigned he needs more than 1 year so his pay would overlap with favors next contract. we cannot over allocate all that $ into PF's not when favors doesn't want to play C and millsap doesnt want to play SF

Pretty sure you can only spend $3 million max in a transaction. And the Jazz wouldn't lose any money taking on Humphries since they will be paying roughly $50 million for the roster regardless of how little salary is contractually owed (they have $25-ish million to play with IN CAP SPACE before they spend any actual money).

In the $25 million dollar range. And it's not exactly a "need" so much as a complete waste of cap space.
