Saric vs. Giannis (what I could glean from DX)
Both born in '94. Saric is 8 months older (big deal).
Saric listed 27 lbs heavier than Giannis.
Wingspan: Saric 6'10" vs. Giannis 7'3"
3pt: Saric 30% vs. Giannis 34%
FT: Saric 50% vs. Giannis 70%
Both are said to be good passers. But Giannis enormous hands are talked about as strengths in passing, ball-handling, and finishing.
Saric defense numbers look meh. Giannis is also less than spectacular here but the writeup mentions that defensively the aspect of the game in which he has the most potential.
I've never seen either play - except online clips. Based on very little info I'm leaning Giannis.
Anyone care to enlighten me?
Saric will be OK offensively, not sure how he'll go against the SFs of the NBA though... I don't think he can stay in front of them.
So what is worse,
Larkin @ 14 (DX)
or
Plumlee @ 14 (nbadraft.net)
?
Honestly, I couldn't tell you which one I hated more.
It's an idiotic argument, especially coming from someone who spent so much time mocking those who didn't like Millsap- who plays a position where size is much more important IMO- because of his size.

Toss-up. I'd maybe take Plumlee as bpa, though.

he shouldent be worse than Gallinari on D
Int'l players is not my thing.. but I've heard very little positive about either .. other than Giannis' potential. Based on very little.. I'd puy Giannie mid 20's and Saric early 2nd.
I agree with everything you've written but #4. I think you've overplayed the size angle, in general, and I don't remember you ever being a big enough fan of college ball to put much stock in your opinion of these players' on-court ability. I'd hope the Jazz could do better at 14, but I'd be happy with Larkin at 21 (again, from the little I've seen).1 - Millsap is a proven NBA player, Larkin is not. Millsap was also drafted in the middle of the 2nd round (in a terrible draft).
2 - Larkin might work out (as any could), but I like other players more.
3 - Size is a piece of the equation, not the whole equation. When you're an "est" on the wrong side of the spectrum, it's folly to wholly disregard it. Would you argue that size plays no role in the quality of a player? If you don't, where is the point for you to have concern?
4 - Say what you want, I think it's very hard to be a consistently effective defender when you're almost assuredly the smallest player on the floor on a given night.
Larkin might be good. He might be the right pick. Or he might not. I'd rather pick someone else at 14.
