Following potential 2013 draftees

Yeah wow that's just a terrible trade for the Wolves. I get that we each lose 5 and gain 5 draft spaces.... but moving up from 14 to 9 >>>>>> moving back from 21 to 26. There's no way the Jazz would not do this deal.

A couple of things for the Wolves to consider:

1. We'll throw in a future 2nd rounder. So that's an extra incentive there.

2. This draft is wide open from #10 - #24, the talent is so flat there that you can still grab someone very decent at #21.

3. The guy they actually want (KCP) will be a reach at #9 just because 76ers, OKC and DAL all seems to want either Bigs or PG.

To me this situation is tailored to Minny saying "Yes".

"The stars are aligned" so to speak.

In that scenario I figure the Jazz have to accept salary back from Timberwolfs. If AK opts in they are in a pinch with Pekovic and Budinger still to sign and then no more cap space to improve. I heard/read that Minny is pretty desperate to make the playoffs next year. (or risk having Love unhappy).

In possible trade scenarios, remember that we have not just second round picks to sweeten deals, but also Tomic rights (don't know if this is more or less valuable than a 2nd-round pick these days). I seem to recall Wolves once were interested in Tomic, but have no idea if they still are under their new FO.

I would be... how you say... most pleased if this were the case somehow.

Then I'd take back the salary and I'd swap #9 and #14.

But I would not #21 and #26.

Just tell them to pick their poison.

Yeah but if you put your self in Minny's shoes..

- you need a scoring SG

- Bazz is off the board

- You don't need Adams, Olynyk, Zeller, MCW, etc.

Then what's stopping you from trading down to grab him?

Nothing.. I was actually endorsing your non-Bravo'esque trade idea.

Why wouldn't McCollum be Minnesota's pick at 9 if they need a scoring 2 guard?

I want McCollum to be drafted by the Jazz just as much as the next guy but isn't McCollum a more scoring guard than KCP?

I heard they were down on McCollum because 1-they are already loaded at pg and 2-they feel like they need a bigger sg.
