What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

I'm speaking with an asst tomorrow that is going to fill me in on the Jazz visit. They evaluated 3 players and gave some candid feedback to this asst. I texted him for details and he left me a message while I was in air.

Calling me tomorrow at noon (10mtn).

Names?

That would be the logic, sure, but I don't know for sure yet. All I know at this point is that I'm supposed to learn who the Jazz are high on and who they're not.

Those are the only three names that make sense. I have to think that Wiltjer will stay another year (and might stay through his senior year) and the rest of the team I have no interest in.

Anyway, I will be refreshing this page constantly until the updates have been posted. Patience is not working with me today.

BTW, PKM, I hope that you're right about AD. I am amazed when I look at some of his stat lines, then I'm extremely disappointed when he misses a bunch of games due to a sore or sprained something or other. I hope that doesn't define his career.

I have no more than 10% concern that will be the case.

Why in the hell is this thread not stickied. The wrath of PKM's rep power could rain down on the mods. So it is written so it shall come to pass!:o

nothingbutnet, I am with you I would be happy with getting WCS and Burke. I want the Jazz to draft two players and let AJ and Millsap walk. Save the money for the young guns. I do not want to see second/third tier veterans signed to play primary roles on the team over the young guys.

I've had some concerns with Anthony Davis being durable enough. For no reasons beyond that he looks frail.

Anyway...

I know.. I noticed how sirkicky stickied his own thread in GD about Joseph Smith and 1,000 year old moon martians.. but no sticky for this?? Totally dumb.

Okay .....

So Jazz came in to watch Poythress (primarily) and ended up watching Goodwin, Poythress, and WCS. According to the assistant (which I will not name, per his request) the Jazz left not interested in Goodwin, high on Poythress, and "Sky High" on WCS. This assistant said he felt the Jazz would select WCS over Poythress as BPA. That was his hunch though.. not what was said.

Sorry, I expected more info than that.

I have 0 interest in any UK player other than WCS. Poy has potential, but he has already shown to be passive in a balanced offensive system, so why would he be any different in Utah?

It sure would be bizarre to select Poythress with the Marvin Williams fiasco fresh on everyone's minds.

LOL.. that's bang on what I said yesterday re WCS. Orange has been praising him for a couple of months too.. props to him.

I don't particularly like NBAdraft.net rankings, but I thought I would share with everyone what they have for the Jazz right now.

With the #8 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz select Otto Porter of Georgetown (6'8" to 6'9" depending where you look and 205 lbs SF)

Not the best video. Please add others if you can find them.

Went back to see who was the 1st person to mention Otto "Black Moses" Porter and it was Orange.

Way to go. You are now a VIP in the Otto Porter Jazzfanz Fan Club.
