Following potential 2013 draftees

I know you'll call me a hater (KNOW it), but they both had a bad college experience and a coach that didn't help them exploit a natural position. WTF was Drew doing with Austin this year?????? Perry Jones?? Holy **** I swear any of us here would see PJIII was a PF.. not a SF.. not a center... it wastes the dev't and confidence of these young men.

They're all interested in a gimmick.
My bro also said that Austin's dad told him he could've gon to KU, but instead went to Baylor. My bro said Austin's dad was very upset at his sons choice for this very reason.
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why players continue to play for Scott Drew.

Guess the money talks.
Bro also said that Baylor offered money to Austin. PKM, did KU really want Austin?
I would rather see the Jazz take McCollum over Austin if both are available with the first pick the Jazz have.
I highly doubt both will be available when the jazz pick.

I don't recall specifically, but am sure Kansas would have taken Austin with open arms.. he was a top 5 ranked kid.

I really don't follow college ball, but if Larkin is in, he should be on our radar, right? Led Miami to ACC regular season and conference champiosnhips. Competes at a high level, gets to his spots, makes the right plays, can shoot it. Somewhere between JJ Barea and Ty Lawson, I'd think (closer to Lawson).

He's a good player.. just awfully small.. and not long.

is that KU or UK?

Not sure how big an advantage length is for a point guard. With taller guards, it can perhaps have an effect on handles/turnovers, but Larkin's already pretty damn close to the floor and seems to have decent handles. Looks really good on video.

Kentucky didn't recruit Austin. Kansas did, iirc.

a lot of mocks have larkin in the draft and Chad Ford says he is 50/50.
I think he goes back.

Hopefully PKM doesn't rain down on me from on high, but truthfully I have no idea, I guessed.;)
No biggie.

Just a little worried about court vision and defense.. not a huge deal, but definitely something that concerns me a bit.

I love watching Larkin play, but he has a lot more limitations than he does upside. Plus he plays really stupid sometimes. He needs more time to develop.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was the SEC player of the year this year and Larkin is a great PG but he is like 5'11 on a good day.

Btw, NBN, more smoke re: an imminent commitment from Wiggins to UK .. that I heard today.
Still lots of mixed signals, but it's sounding 80% UK / 10% UNC / 6% FSU / 4% KU ... and those are highly scientific numbers.

I would call it the Bargnani marshmellow soft memorial power forward position for at least 3 years.

Well that is a little harsh, he tries to play inside he is just too weak. Maybe over time he can add some bulk but I doubt he is ever going to be more than 225-230.

He has the length and athletic ability to be an off the ball shotblocker and he can shoot and be a faceup finesse 4. I just worry about rebounding and being beasted in the post.

Austin was listed 220 to start his Freshman year.......

The guy has a solid frame, could definitely add some weight on it and get up to 240-ish.

Just and FYI i can see Jabari parkers stock dropping in 2014. Duke is not the best system to increase draft stock.

Tell that to Kyrie Irving.

I don't really know where your statement is coming from at all. Duke just doesn't tend to recruit or get players who are considered to be 1 and done pro prospects. They usually get college players (white people who can shoot). When they have gotten those types of players though, they get perform and get drafted just fine.
