Following potential 2014 draftees

@WojYahooNBA: Joel Embiid has suffered stress fracture in right foot and slated for surgery on Friday, agent Arn Tellem says.

@WojYahooNBA: The stress fracture is in the navicular bone in Embiid's right foot.

@ChrisMannixSI: Several medical experts have described Embiid's type of injury to me as serious. Say navicular bone is the slowest healing in the body

@stevekylerNBA: Yao Ming fractured his navicular bone, and ultimately required 12 pins to stabilize the spidery cracks that developed as a result.

@stevekylerNBA: The one saving grace for Embiid is he does not have nearly the wear and mileage on his foot that Yao did, but this is a major kind of injury

Do not draft Embiid. I thought about it, and I wouldn't draft him.

The injury appears to be serious. It seems he will miss significant time with injuries. Factor into account that Embiid is an inexperienced player who needs PT. These injuries will constantly set him back from being the court and learning. I doubt he will ever realize his full potential because of nagging injuries, and that is his best case scenario. Worst case is that he is hardly ever on the floor at all.

I honestly don't know what I would do. I'm so close to the middle on this one, I might just flip a coin. Big men with foot or back injuries are bad news. Embiid has both. Yikes! But to get the best player in the draft at #5 without having to trade any of your young talent. Yowza!

So Alex Len is on the same level as Parker, Exum and Vonleh?

Interesting.

Is this draft on par with last years?

Alex Len is far from a bust, Centers usually have the biggest adjustment period of any position, he just turned 21 and also had surgeries on both ankles before the season. In March he put up respectable per 36 #'s of 10.3pts, 10.7 rebs and 1.8blks showing flashes

Like Vonleh I was repping Len when he wasnt getting much respect in the top 10, by the time the draft rolls around hes moved way up in perceived value. There was rumor late in the process of Len going #1 overall last year

I question this anymore these days.

National endorsements maybe not. But seriously, does a major company want to brand someone that will be on TV only a couple of times per season?
But definitely in local spots. No offense, but as the "face" of the franchise, Gordon's biggest ad is with a moving and storage company?

Given how little Embiid has actually played basketball, there's a very good chance his body just can't handle it.

Brook Lopez is another recent example.

One would think a 97 in one draft is a 97 in any other draft. That's usually how such things work.
