Following potential 2014 draftees

It all comes down to who the Jazz draft at #5 (or #1) and who the Jazz may/may not give up.
Draft Wiggins or Gordon, and I'd like to see Utah try to trade up with the #23 and #35 for someone like Payne. Go with Vonleh, and then Kyle Anderson or KJ McDaniels or Hairston makes sense. There are so many good players available outside the lottery and into the 2nd round. I even think the Jazz may buy some additional 2nds to "draft and stash." Why else would Dennis say in an interview some 2nd woulds be available for purchase? I think DL tries to give us little nuggets here and there while not disclosing too much. He's more open than KOC. Last year, leading up to the draft, he said there was an international player teams were sleeping on. We guessed it was Gobert and we were right; Lindsey got back into the first and grabbed him.

He was right too. For the 27th pick in a crappy draft, Gobert looked pretty damn good even though Ty barely used him. I'm looking forward to seeing how he responds to the new coaching staff. If they can get a similar prospect late this year (which should be a lot easier due to the depth of this draft) then I'm all for it.

The Sixers have zeroed in on Exum and Noah Vonleh here. They are very high on Exum as a prospect. He obviously plays the same position as Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams. However, the Sixers feel the two can play together and they continue to explore Carter-Williams trades that would land them a third pick in the top 10. The Lakers have strong interest in a package of Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young for the No. 7 pick and Steve Nash. But so far there hasn't been any traction on that deal, according to sources. Even if they don't move Carter-Williams, they might still lean toward Exum. They have him ranked as a stronger pro. - ESPN.com

I always thought the 76ers would go after hometown kid NV. Im pretty sure thats his favorite team.

Why is Philly so eager to trade MCW? Is he a cancer?

I just listened to Bill Simmons BS Report with Chad Ford today and they talked pretty extensively about MCW. It seemed that they feel like MCW's age coupled with the perception he overachieved a bit as a rookie in chasing the rookie of the year award has his stock really high. So they want to get the best return on him with a trade. Ford even confirmed that he talked to NBA people that confirmed that they were approached by Philadelphia about interest in MCW.

He's a chucker. Sure he was ROY, but his numbers were pretty unimpressive and inefficient. He shot 40%/26%. Jazz have a PG who was only slight better (worse on overall FG%, but better on 3's). At least MCW has size.

Didn't NV play hs ball in Mass? Talked about how playing for Celtics would be a dream?

I think Vonleh is from the Boston area.

I'm guessing the Jazz and possibly the Celtics are offering viable deals to trade up to #3 and Philly is looking at Gordon and Smart as a result.

So.... the Jazz could trade up to #3, likely for Exum, trade up to #1, likely for Wiggins, or sit at #5 for whichever of Gordon/Vonleh/Randle they like.

Then I'd bet they have at least another deal or two involving #23 and a player they don't really want to pay in a year.

This might seem a little far fetched, but here is something that would really make me happy.

1-4 is Wiggins, Parker, Exum, and Vonleh in some order. Embiid is there at 5 and say the Celtics really wants him.

Jazz in: #6, #12

Jazz out: #5, #23, #35

Celtics in: #5

Celtics out: #6, #17

Magic in: #17, #23, #35

Magic out: #12

Jazz get Gordon at 6 and a shooter at 12.

Celtics get Embiid at 5.

Magic get Vonleh at 4, Ennis at 17, they have 23 and 35 to play with.

Lol one can wish.
