What's new

Following potential 2015 draftees

Chad Ford's new Mock Draft 7.0:

Out of those seven, Lyles would be the most underwhelming. My order would be:

1a. Turner
1b. Johnson
3. Oubre
4. Kaminsky
5. Looney
6. Dekker
7. Lyles

I have about 3 more people before i get to Lyles... I'm really not very high on him... I think I'd pick Portis, Hunter and RHJ before I pick Lyles. Maybe even Vaughn.

In a field of good wing prospects Sam Dekker is damn mediocre. He'd be a reach at 12.

24.5" no-step vertical is a bit funky.. thats Steve Novak / Julius Hodge / Austin Daye territory.

Yeah but his lateral movement is amazing for 6'9" guy. A 10.71 agility score easily beat everyone 6'9" and above this year and last year (including Aaron Gordon). He should be able to guard SGs, SFs, and some PFs.

Man, if the Jazz go with Trey Lyles, I will not be happy one bit. He's at the very back of the list and don't get how Locke thinks he's a very good player.

He has such a sparkling personality though.... kidding I almost fell asleep during his interview. Maybe he's the Gordon Hayward of this draft... I didn't get that one at the time either.

Myles Turner had a workout today in Phoenix. I thought he wouldn't workout for teams past 12. I guess I had that one wrong.

Lyles has a Greg Monroe type of skillset but with a more dangerous face-up game. If he can continue to refine his handle, shooting and athleticism, he will prove to be well worth a lottery pick.

His strengths offensively are more nuanced than many of the prospects being discussed. he interprets the defense well, knows when to pick his spots, and shows an adept touch around the rim. It's understated just how advanced skill-wise he is for a 19 year old, and it's certainly not out of the realm of possibilities that he develops consistent NBA 3pt range.

Obviously his interviews aren't the most charismatic, he's basketball player though - I'm sure PKM can speak on his personality better than I. Lyles seems to carry himself in an understated, level-headed, low-key type of way. It sort of looked like he was the guy reminding Towns not to get too amped sometimes on the bench during blowouts, the type to crack a smile/cut the mood next to a player barking at the refs.

I think I'm leaning toward Sam Dekker tbh.

I just like his size and athletic ability.

I'm pretty meh on him, but I can psyche myself up for just about any player in the Jazz's range. With Lyles being the least, though I sorta feel that I'm really underselling him too.

Wow.. Been some really good posts today.

As far as this goes, I was just putting out my order for the seven players Ford says we are looking at for #12.
