This dated footage makes me even more confident that Payne will not fall into the same pitfalls as Trey. There's many parallels for sure(especially if you're using stats to build an argument). when you turn on the film though, IMO there's a disconnect. They play differently.

So whats Jamal Murray gonna do? seems like Oregon's a heavy favorite. I checked out a few Canadian recruiting lists and they're seemingly in on all the top players the next few years.

Every single inside track I have is heavily suggesting Oregon.
I'm not certain either school is his best choice, tbh. He wants to showcase his PG ability and he's got heavy competition at both schools (particularly UK).

Cal selling him on playing heavy minutes in a 3-guard line up of "positionless" offense. But it's a tough sell, imo.

How much would it cost us to get to 8? Would 12 + next years first and the 2017 gsw pick get us there? I just feel like this is the last time were going to sniff the top ten for awhile so it might be worth it to go all in.

Who would you target at #8?

I would rather;

Completely trade away our #12 for a pick within that range in '17. That would give us 3 firsts in '17 and a chance to get a franchise player that year. There are no players outside of the top 4 this year that really excite me.. and none at all that really, REALLY excite me.

And, yes, even though there is not a chance in hell I would do that (if the Jazz), it would definitely get the job done.
 
I keep hearing 2017 is a great draft so i could buy into that idea. I like Stanley Johnson. I think we need another playmaker and i think he could be a useful swiss army knife type of guy. Move him to the block on smaller guys, capable of taking the ball to the hoop, and could hit the corner 3. I like the idea of him being our Diaw or Draymond. What are your thoughts on him, Doc?
