Following potential 2017 draftees...

I have posted many times jazz don't need a traditional point guard. Frank can be successful with or with out the ball. Evans needs the ball in his hands to be successful.

Frank is bigger and it will be easier for him to guard on switches.

I think this is wrong. The Jazz could use a more traditional PG. Need another playmaker, just prefer one who isnt 5'11.

If Evans was 6'3 he'd be a top-10 pick. That's really one of the only knocks on him. The thing is he is different from the usual undersized guards that go through the draft.

Let me just repeat, I really like Bell. Maybe not so much at 24. But definitely at 30. If he's still on the board at 30 we must take him.

Frankly, we could use his athleticism and range. Much more fluid than Favors or B-Boy and would serve as a valuable rim protector and range player who could defend stretch 4s. He'd be amazing to cover in the pick and roll. His work ethic and intangibles lead me to believe that he could work at his game and develop into a a very nice player. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being one of the steals of that late 1st/2nd round. His athleticism alone would be good for a few dunks, a few extra possessions on the o-boards, a block or two a game.

That's a pretty good knock. Did we learn nothing from the Trey Burke experiment?

at 6 feet Evans will struggle to see over the top of defenses, won't be able to get his shot off in the lane, and will be a complete liability defensively. I'd rather go with a bigger athlete who at the very least can defend and play in the NBA. Jackson at the PG spot or Bell at the 4. Maintain our identity, stay long and athletic. No more Trey Burkes.

How is he different? For players that small they need to be special to succeed. The ones that do are the exceptions. For example, his finishing around the rim is 48% in college. What do you think will happen when you up the size and athleticism of the opponents? And to add insult to injury he doesn't have the vertical athleticism to make up for it. He obviously has some skill and craftiness, but I'm not sure I like his chances of succeeding on midrange jumpers and off the dribble 3s. Could he do it? It's not impossible... but I think there will be other prospects I'd like better where we pick.

He is more athletic and a better defender than most people give him credit for. I'm not focusing on the scoring as much as I am focusing on his facilitating. No player has put up the assist rate % and steal rate % Evans did in the past 25 years. All of the prospects in our range have flaws. You make some good points but it is foolish to not realize that he is an elite facilitator.
