This criticism is far from the truth, but assuredly it isn't nearly as grim as you see it, we're dealing with the cream of some excellent crops here. There is a staggering rate of improvement from these more recent players that will be illustrated in all these new age statistics you see over the years... Just look at the evolution of the 3pt shot...
I can't stand adults who have to attempt to marginalize all the good things going on around them so they can sit atop their high horse to feel comfortable about themselves(on forums often in the form of confirming their prior biases.......), and I see a ton of this.
My absolute all time favorite movie is Persona... It is actually my preference to deal with folks as Liv Ullman's character does in this film... but I'm a nice guy and ultimately a people person and perhaps most importantly an optimist.
im well aware of the perceived warts of many of these athletes but let me first say i believe people are mostly negative nancies, i believe it's much, much easier to criticize than attempt to envision the possibilities on what could be in a few years and it's chances of reaching whatever stage. Basketball is a fluid game, with so many moving peices, little things can make big changes, and if you look close enough there's anomalies happening everywhere all the time...
If u look at the majority of these top 3 pick having fanbases, the vast majority of those fans with an opinion on the players they want drafted or not drafted is steeped heavily in narrative bias, they don't see the top ten as 10 players who will probably make billions of dollars and them having a good choice no matter what, they want their prefrences and then in their minds they start concocting all sorts of bs about the other players being busts and all that other stuff. This is the way people are, they put things in lists and label them, people need to label things around them and pretend their labels are important, its an essential part of the "healthy" human experience
