What's new

Following Potential 2022 Draftees

its so boring to me this season.. last season.. If I had to use one word to describe it ---- Stasis (or Backlogged).... I guess people dont watch over basically the entire nation like me.. If you did tho, you'd be bored too...

Its the same fking players, back again, their sophomores/juniors/seniors, like they were last year...

yall break my chops about looking ahead ---- are these teams not like the same every year now? is the lack of roster overturn not simply astonishing to you?

and what would things look like without the x-fer situation?far, far, far worse! you'd have kids stuck in limbo in terrible spots, recruited over, 24 years old.. Basically we were just 1 step removed from preposterously heinous scenarios...

n the worst part is people use so many words to describe the situation they forget the most important/relevant ---- COMPETITIVE... This **** is not competitive, it's anti-competition.

The idea that the players are the winners, is preposterous. Thats marketing! The reality is the handful of winners and their stories are used to distract you from the 1000's of losers getting a raw deal, much like how a Casino works.. A coach can go 0-31 and make millions of dollars.. TV analysts can blather on about completely irrelevant things, do a terrible job, they get paid the same.. The refs get to perform at an unsatisfactory level and get paid the same.

the 5-25 college coach making millions is a loser right? well what does it make the kids that he recruited and made false promises to? They dont even get mentioned by name! your just an afterthought!...

this is clearly the most crucial structural flaw within the system.. Thank Goodness for the G-League... The G-League is such a resounding success beyond what ppl realize at this time, its forced the NCAA to fall in line!

The g-league can only rescue a few players from getting potentially hostaged by the system, but thats a whole lot of progress compared to just a few years ago..

Ill always remember Isaiah Todd's(Rookie on the Wizards) mother used to tell him when he was in his early teens that he would go straight to the NBA and wouldnt need to go to college, and that the one-and-done rule would be gone by then..

and ofc it came true

No one i know, who used to defend the one-and-done rule will even hold a conversation about it anymore... thats marketing too..

the real elephant in the room when it comes to sports, and 'water cooler talk' is that ppl are just repeating what they heard in the media...

I would offer the fact that so many people(with no dogs in the fight) defended the one-and-done rule up as a perfect example of how the media mind controls people and gets them to repeat silly nonsensical things, because they know how to present them with a degree of 'normalcy'.

That rule never made any sense, it was anti-american, anti-capitalism, and worst of the 3 uncompetitive. the explaination of how it was gonna affect players/teams was pure fantasy, did Peter Pan come up with that rule?

Yet many casual fans thought it was a good idea because they heard some talking head on ESPN making outragous, sensationalized claims about the rule and its effect and they listened and thought "yeah that makes sense, lets act like an arbitrary # is more important than all of the complexities involved with going to the next step of competition (from amatuer to pro)..."
