and u look at the overtime elite league, the player that really i like to keep an eye on is Bryson Warren --- He's got Giannis, Tony Parker and Devin Booker teaching him in a "life skills" class, theres no comparison between that sorta deal where things are transparent and the lies and smoke involved with the college recruitment/courting process, n the players getting paid in college only makes it worse..
its less about the game, more about the money and resources, which just means more room for error in the scouting process, players being goaded into signing their names into handicapped positions..
its like these coaches are crooked CEO's trying to fudge the numbers for their next quarterly report to keep investors interest, but instead of quarterly reports its the next years recruiting cycle..
and u can see that pressure on the face of Juwan Howard postgame as they lose to wisconsin, and all his star recruits play like **** n Johnny Davis who was ranked #134 in his class by rivals is clearly the best player on the floor.
whos gonna want to be the next to step up and have their perceived value crushed as Diabate and Houstan have? as Penny Hardaway's done with Emoni Bates.. n the list goes on and on and on and on and on
n the game that should be about the atheletes turns into about the coaches jostling for their next paycheck --- it's stale n stinks of that old man type of stink..
n ya know whats lost... the importance of winning! we're gonna bend over backwards to get all these peices in place and then they expect the winning to just naturally happen.. It's bogus.. the lack of foresight involved when u have literally a staff of "scouts" is staggering..
n hey its not just college look in the Australian league and whats happened to Ousmane Dieng... same type of ****.. this behavior is rampant and it's not really basketball its headline chasing!!!
it's a bunch of grown *** men, chasing headlines, which is to sign the star player and then "ok we've got him, now lets try and make it work"... not we've got a great basketball situation thats perfect and we wanna sign ya... it's much more smoke and mirrors...
part of it is due to the scouting services being ****** at their job too! i swear tho it's all about the headlines, which fuels the scouting service updates as well.. which is just to do that to basketball is preposterous cuz its a flowing game up and down and theres tons of repetition, shouldnt be so difficult.
Ryan Kalkbrenner 8/9 from the field, 5 oboards, 2 stls 3 blks in a 1pt win over UVA today...
to quote M. Gustave "You see, there are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity."
this players been underrated for years, Creighton is primed for a nice postseason I hope, they seem to be doing it the right way, or at least better than most.
BOOGIE ELLIS AT THE BUZZER!!!! game!!! thats the best he's played all season, he's heating up as we get to tourney time. He can get his shots off! he's slippery and pulls up on a dime and he's liek 6'2 (listed at 6'3") n is pretty good at gambling defensively for steals. N he's gonna be in thaT END OF the 2nd rd or undrafted range, the Jazz will bring him in for workouts for sure..
6'8 Julian Champaigne has been going crazy lately... 31 and 27 points in last 2 game.. His brother Justin who;s 2" shorter went undrafted last year but has played in 30 games as a rookie for the Raptors...
Julian might get drafted, n if he keeps playing liek this he certainly will.
Malaki Branham is playing lights out again.. actually mistake free basketball from the 6'5 freshman.. its going to overtime cuz he sinks 2 ft's and then sets up Lidell who's playing bad for a dunk with 6 seconds left..
23 points on 7/10 shooting, 8/8 ft's 4ast 2 stls in regulation
