Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I would be disappointed with ending up with Cam Boozer. When you watch him he looks like he has less blocks for feet & plays below the rim.

I know he’s really talented but he doesn’t seem all that athletic & I’m not sure how it’ll translate. Reminds me a bit of Jahlil Okafor in that aspect.

This however is a crazy take to be disappointed in taking him I think he’s gonna be a great player I just don’t think he wins a championship as your best player

As the second best player on his team… that’s what I’m trying to get at, I think bookers awesome I just don’t think he’s ever going to be a number 1 option on a winning team and he caps the way you build your team because you need a ton of strong defenders around him I would be super happy if we drafted him I just think he falls closer to the Lauri Markkanen or Domontas Sabonis role than a Jokic or franchise player type of role

I mean, any #1 option needs a ton of strong defenders around him. SGA isn't winning rings without a strong defense around him. That's just kind of how you have to build in the NBA.

Here's what I don't understand:

What we're trying to draft this year is a future #1 option on a contending team. A guy who can put a team on his back and make something out of nothing in crunch time.

As long as Lauri has been here, people have been saying "He's great, but he can't be your #1 guy if you're going for a championship". That's probably true... but if Lauri isn't that guy, then Boozer really isn't that guy.

You're deluding yourself if you think Cam is going to be a franchise player in the NBA. He can be a building block sure. But then you have to call it like it is. You're drafting a basic building block in the Top 3.

This is true but it gets so much more exposed when it’s a big man rather than a guard

Kat lead teams including Ants rookie year

2015-2016: 29-53
2016-2017: 31-51
2017-2018: 47-35
2018-2019: 36-46
2020-2021: 19-45

Only one of these teams was slightly above average and I think KAT is about as good as Boozer gets in the NBA tbh he’s an AMAZING second option don’t get me wrong this isn’t me trying to hate on him he’s just not a number one guy

All that being said I would be ecstatic to end up with boozer over anyone not in my top 3 I think boozer has the highest floor of anyone not named Darryn Peterson I just think those three guys have more potential to become bonafide number 1 options on a winning team

One thing is for sure: you're gonna be trying to hide Boozer in your NBA defense. At his height and nonexistent vertical, he should be guarding 3's and 4's in the league.

He can't guard those positions any more than he can guard NBA centers.

Let's stop falling in love with these tweeners.

I'm not super high on Boozer's defense or anything, but I think people are being super reductive wrt what constitutes a good defender.
