I wonder if there are some guys in the draft the Jazz really like. Like maybe that’s why they’re not gunning for a top 3 pick.

Maybe. It's hard to say. For one thing, it's not entirely within the Jazz's control. The Jazz may have someone they're targeting in the 6-8 range. The league might also have told the Jazz to stop tanking so obviously and the league might move the Jazz up this year. Who knows...

Things the Jazz need more of:
- physical strength creating paint touches and gravity (so far it’s mostly Collier and Nurk)
- isolation scoring (so far it’s mostly Keyonte and Brice)
- high-level playmaking next to Keyonte (mostly Walt and Nurk right now)
- defensive playmaking (right now it’s Kyle and ??)

I think AJ fits the bill on most all of those.

I just think its hard to tank all the way to the bottom with a roster that could be getting into the playoffs. There are other really bad teams.
I think the jazz would love to get a top 3 pick, its just hard to do.

I think AJ fits the bill on most all of those.

Yeah, ideally the Jazz would add someone like Dwayne Wade (lol) or Andre Iguodala -- an athletic, 2-way wing who can drive the ball, finish at the rim at a high rate, playmake, and score effectively in isolation when defenses switch 1-5. Maybe Ace gets there eventually, but he might be more of a high-level off-ball option.

The top 3 guys in the draft might all fit the bill. After that though, it's iffy. Jazz can get defensive playmaking elsewhere if need be.
