Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I honestly do not understand what the hype is about with WCj. The list of amazing college players that do squat in the NBA is longer than the list that do.
He is still a rookie so will give him a couple years still but as an older pick….not terribly impressed with his ability thus far to penetrate and get the defense scrambling. More of an Andrew nembhart vibe for me which if his purpose is to complement Keyonte, he could continue to grow into that role. Echoing above thoughts my biggest confusion is on management with trading up for him

Rooting for him, but I definitely think trading up for him was wild.
If he works its as a Payton Pritchard type. I am fine with the pick but we were a little weird about it... moving up to do it and all.

I did just look back at that draft though and there really isn’t much behind wcj that is buyers remorse. May still be the best pick from that part of the draft. Had to pick someone there. If he was 19 I’d be sunshine and rainbows. Hopefully we see a big year 2 jump….will be interesting who we pick this year as well. Gonna get a logjam somewhere for minutes with current roster

yeah... I'm fine with the pick it was just a little weird. There are a few guys that are intriguing at different positions that I would have probably liked but none that have gone crazy or something. If they had known Key would take a huge leap I am not sure its the bet they make but maybe Austin isn't a Collier guy.

I still have Danny Wolf remorse.

Miami promised WCJ at 20 so we had to move up. Golden State was also trying to get him. I wonder sometimes if hearing those teams want a guy or are actively pursuing them that it subconsciously (at least a fraction) makes you want to be the team who gets him.

GM FOMO is real.

WCJ was a fine prospect at 18. But I’m still upset with not getting Kasparas. That was my guy, and he’s actually not been too bad for MIA.

I got spanked for some reason for bringing that up. Maybe it was because I was spamming the draft thread about it lol.

But seriously, it’s galaxy-brain stuff to panic trade for the college superhero bust archetype when there’s a bigger and much more talented player that’s three years younger sitting there.

Oh well. The book isn’t written on WCj but I don’t see it. You have to be so outrageously good in this version of the league to be a smallish, unathletic combo guard.
