Free Agent Rumors Thread

I'm ready to quit Jazzfanz too. I'm tired of being 10x smarter than all of you.
Ya know hack, you are pretty smart.

But you are no blues rocker.... now that guy was smart

I don't think we will end up signing anyone from free agency to be the 3rd string PG.

I think we will be trading our unguaranteed contracts for a veteran PG who has attitude. Someone like Will Bynum.

I doubt Jazz will sign anyone unless it is a SG to replace Clark. I think Thomas stays on the team due to his energy. Murphy might not return.

I think Thomas has proven himself. but there isn't much room for him. Kanter, Booker, Evans, Novak. And even Favors can play the 4. I just don't see the need for him. I personally like Thomas more then Evans. but its way too many guys at 1 position.

Jazz might be getting a 3rd string PG because we might be trading lucas away or releasing him.

We still need a SF. Hood is our "only" SF. Hayward is better at the 2.
I think hayward will thrive at the three

With Burke, Burks and Exum at the 1/2, and Hood the only real 3 on the roster, Gordo's going to get most of his minutes at the 3.

Would love to see Malcolm Thomas make the team, but with all the 4s on the team that only works if he can play his minutes at the 3. Jazz need some size/physicality/nasty on the wing, so maybe Thomas is the guy. His shot looks pretty good when his feet are set and he has space/time.

If the FO doesn't think Thomas fills the physical/defensive 3 spot role, I'd guess they look elsewhere. The Jazz will need a 1 behind Burke and Exum; not sure if it'll be JLIII, Clark or someone else.

I don't necessarily disagree, but my gut feeling tells me that they'll look to fill that spot next year if the Hayward, Burks and Burke/Exum lineup doesn't perform up to their expectations. Love Hood, but I wouldn't put him in the starting lineup just because of his position.

I'm still rooting for a variety of starting lineup combinations and minutes distribution this year that include all of Favors, Kanter, Gobert, Hayward, Hood, Burks, Burke and Exum. Booker, Novak and Evans can all get minutes off the bench and in case of injuries.

Any chance that the new coaching staff views Evans as a wing instead of post player? IMO, he's too skinny to defensively much up against most power forwards. Maybe against stretch 4's, but even that's dicey sometimes. I could see him or Novak get some minutes at the backup 3 behind Hayward and Hood. His outside shot looked improved last year in limited minutes, but can he do it consistently?

For the most part, I would like for us to roll with the current young squad. I'd say that we give Malcolm Thomas a camp invite and bring in a couple of the other summer league standouts (from other teams). I know that someone mentioned Seth Curry; we could definitely use more shooting help.
