Free Agent Shooting Guards Who do Jazz go after

Jazz biggest weakness is a shooting guard who can actually shoot. The draft appears to be very weak in that area as does the free agent class. Jazz will have some money but I do not see them getting Ray Allen, Michael Redd has been injured and don't know if he is worth a big risk. If the Jazz draft BPA and get forwards, or a back up point who could they go after in a trade for SG. Deshawn appears to be among the best options on the list and I do not know if that is good enough. Is there anyone on this list who is worth seeking out in free agency? I am not enthralled with this list.

Ray Allen, Boston Celtics - $10.0 million – Player Option ($10.0 million)
Jason Richardson, Orlando Magic - $14.4 million - Unrestricted
Jamal Crawford, Atlanta Hawks - $10.1 million – Unrestricted
Arron Afflalo, Denver Nuggets - $2.0 million – Restricted ($2.9 million Qualifying Offer)
Wilson Chandler, New York Knicks - $2.1 million – Restricted ($3.1 million Qualifying Offer)
Shannon Brown, L.A. Lakers - $2.1 million – Player Option ($2.4 million)
C.J. Miles, Utah Jazz - $3.7 million – Team Option ($3.7 million)
J.R. Smith, Denver Nuggets - $6.0 million – Unrestricted
DeShawn Stevenson, Dallas Mavericks - $4.2 million – Unrestricted
Mike Dunleavy, Indiana Pacers - $10.6 million – Unrestricted
Chris Douglas-Roberts, Milwaukee Bucks - $0.9 million – Unrestricted*
Nick Young, Washington Wizards - $2.6 million – Restricted ($3.7 million Qualifying Offer)
Sonny Weems, Toronto Raptors - $0.9 million – Unrestricted*
Mo Evans, Atlanta Hawks - $2.5 million – Unrestricted
Daequan Cook, Oklahoma City Thunder - $2.2 million – Restricted ($3.1 million Q Offer)
Anthony Parker, Cleveland Cavaliers - $2.9 million – Unrestricted
Eddie House, Miami HEAT - $1.4 million – Player Option ($1.4 million)

I would be okay with giving Ray Allen a nice big contract. I know he is old, but I think his game will age just fine. I am sure he will stay with the celtics, though.

Could we swoop on Jamal Crawford with Ak's contract at an end, a trade of Okur, and Atlanta not wanting to go into the tax?

atlanta traded crawford to the wizards

I'd do that. Afflalo has really blossomed lately. In fact, the Jazz should go after him hard. Dude is a 50% FG, 43% 3, 85% FT guy. CJ Miles pales in comparison.

not to mention he can d up decently as well.
ive had a man crush on him for a while now.

i would support this signing 100%

I am on board with getting Afflalo but I think George Karl really likes him so it will be difficult.

Perhaps The Jazz should have drafted Afflalo instead of Morris Almond

I wouldn't count on it - one of the reasons they got rid of Anthony is to keep Afflalo

I'd be happy with any of these guys- Jason Richardson, Ray Allen, Jamal Crawford, Afflalo, J.R. Smith, CDR, Young, Thorton, Redd or Wafer. Seems like a pretty strong SG class.

I wish we would have kept Deshawn, he turned out to be a solid 2 that can shoot and play pretty good D. I'm hoping we bring him back next year, even though we probably wont. Maybe in the future we will keep guys like Deshawn now that Sloan's gone.

Has anyone even seen Redd since the 2008 Olympics?
