Every player is slowly progressing so it makes it hard. Also Anderson is just sitting on the bench, but he's probably still a quality 9th/10th guy on most teams.
Opposing players shoot 15% higher than expected when defended by Anderson. This is the worst defended % differential in the entire league for any player who played non-negligible minutes. This differential is much, much worse than what (supposedly horrible defender) Keyonte has.

Anderson has not been playing much so far for a very good reason: he is completely cooked.

So to sit Lauri again this year would be too blatant a move, imo.
Not on a back to back after he just played over 40 minutes in a close overtime game. Not even a tiny bit blatant.
It was literally the perfect time to do it.

Yeah but after last year’s fine, it would stick out like a sore thumb.

On top of that now there’s a crack down on tanking pressured by the gambling industry.

On top of that Smith might not want to lose face to other owners.

You got to remember these billionaires are soooooo vain.

At 36 MPG Lauri plays more minutes than most of the NBA stars. He has also missed only 5 games, way below average for stars players. The Jazz can easily play him a bit less without any repercussions.

Had last night’s Vivint Arena (or whatever the hell it’s called these days) been empty, pretty sure we lost that game with the Mavs leading by 10 points with something like 5 minutes left.

10 more wins like that and we probably lose our pick.

Instant gratification trumps all for some, I guess.

Blaming a lost pick on fans for showing up to games is certainly a take.

This is the quote I was talking about (below). The Spurs have this pretty well figured out, they have done it 3 times, with a dynasty as a result.
The spurs got very lucky and successfully tanked once that lead to a championship. That was the last team to sucessfully do that and that was 30 years ago. Maybe they did it again with Wemby but that is yet to be seen. Personally I think he could lead them to a championship but I have serious doubts about his ability to stay healthy through heavy playoff intensity.

Hopefully we can be a team that repeats the Spurs luck of drafting Duncan and that player leading us to multiple championships. But like you said our sucess as a franchise has been mostly those middling picks so maybe we should stick to that model that lead us to many great players.

It is very indicative of the Jazz Fanz fan base, and frankly a reasonable approximation of the people who really care about the Jazz and aren't just casual fans. The casual fans, which admittedly could make up 50% and higher of the actual "fan base", will want wins over future plans any day, they just want a fun night out at the Delta Center. But the fans that care about future prospects and fighting for a ring are probably not far off of this poll. Either way it is the data we have, better than the opposing data, which doesn't exist. You gonna poll the overall fan base to see where it *really* stands?
The people on this board are in no way representative of the Jazz fan base. This is an extremely small micro-niche.

It has been stated in this thread multiple times.
I would ask you to consider who has made that comment before taking it seriously. So you're saying that is indicative that disgruntled fans think their cheering or not makes a difference? Now who's being disingenuous?

Now if enough people vote with their dollars, that's another story. Because frankly if literally no one showed up, you think that doesn't send a message? But again you're a smart dude, yet you took that comment at face value? Come on.
