Game 5: Termination Game -- Jazz @ Thunder 4/25/2018 7:30 pm MST

The bad news is that Russ finally had a good game. He had been bad all series, but that was largely because he was scared of Gobert. Does this game solve his fear of Gobert? I'm scared of game 6.

No, it doesn't. If it wasn't for that bs 4th foul, odds are this game end different. We'll make adjustments and kill them in game 6.

ONeal is the new Shelvin. Quin loves him but he isnt made for the big moments, dude does ****ing nothing out there.

Cant beleive Quin never tried Exum on Rus or PG.
O'neale is a ****ing black hole on offense. The defense literally gives him 10 feet of space to operate and it's like we are playing 4 vs 5 whenever he is on the court.

Wouldn’t be right the way this season has been to not have the Jazz set another record of some kind.

Why would it do that? Gobert sucked his soul out when he was actually able to play.

Yeah,, but part of that is he plays well against Russ, then Russ starts second guessing himself. It's a mental thing. Russ could be freed from his mental prison with this performance, to quote Kanye West.

Quin lost us this one. Putting Gobert back into the game with 5 minutes left in 3rd with 4 fouls when we were up by 13 was just a terrible decision. They had made a mini run but we were fine. Ekpe was playing solid defense. We could have held them at bay enough without Rudy. Rudy picking up his 5th in the 3rd basically took him out of the game even when he was on the floor. He couldn't contest shots or defend the pick and roll aggressively. That's why Westbrook and PG went off. I still love Quin, but yeah he cost us this one.

That said, I still think we're fine. It's been clear throughout the series that we are the better team. OKC won tonight and we still finished the game with more rebounds and assists. Our group is mentally tough. I don't see them being rattled by this outcome. I don't see Rudy getting in foul trouble again. And I don't see Westbrook and PG both going off again. I expect us to close this down in game 6.

The Royce O'Neale haters really coming out.

Uhh, I would say the horrible decision was taking Gobert out in the first place with 4 fouls. Just ride Gobert, we were up 25. If we win that quarter and finish the 3rd up by 20 still, then the Jazz are in good position.

I dont like complaining about that kind of stuff though, because it really is all hindsight.

DM looked tired. He and Jingles could barely move in the 4th quarter. Tired legs kills your shot.

Jazz got up 25 and stopped playing their game. Went into prevent mode taking three after three after three and giving up transition buckets or easy looks. Kept running under screens and Westbrook killed them. Should’ve gone after PG during that stretch to try and get him in worse foul trouble. He killed us on short midrange shots. Don’t think other guys make those.

Gobert and Favors foul trouble caused them to play passive inside and the Thunder took advantage of that.

Oh well. Put it behind you. Go home and close it out. Felt like Rubio really struggled tonight. OKC has nothing to lose - expect another effort like this next game too. Of course, I trust Quin to come back with a new game plan and wrap things up. Donovan finally sat Carmelo and it proved to be a big deal in the 3rd. Let’s see if they try it again.

Also bad news: Billy Donovan finally figured out to not play Carmello starter's minutes

That is the biggest thing... does he have the balls to pull him again... how did he figure this out? Which one of you told him.

Man, I'm disgusted by this lame *** lost. One moment we're leading by 25 then 10, then frickin' tied? This game reminds of that Boston game at home where the Jazz completely fell apart. I hope this ain't the indication of the wheels of the Jazz team falling off. Jazz need to capitalize this friday. **** I gotta work friday night too, so I can't watch it live. Thanks Jazz! Smh
