Game 5: Termination Game -- Jazz @ Thunder 4/25/2018 7:30 pm MST

This last game was also a lesson about never letting your foot off the acceleration until the game is over. I know as a Tennessee Titans fan. The years of Jeff Fisher being the most conservative coach ever was beyond frustrating.

Part of the learning process. If Jazz win Game 6, I would be more confident about the next series.

Then again, its really sad though how they played really well for the first half, and how Crowder couldve been
the storyline for this game, I mean after practically each of the starting 5 having great games or highlights within the past 3 wins, we
still have another guy on the bench who can deliver a starter performance.

I hope you've learned your lesson. You preach about the Jazz game outcomes affecting your family, but then you go be short-sighted, thinking you're doing the good fatherly thing, only to have it result in the L and now your family has to suffer the fallout.

Well, I committed an even greater sin. I didn't wear my lucky socks until about 7pm. So I spent the day without sending lucky sock vibes to the team. So in multiple ways, this one is on me.

Crowder shot it well, but then fell in love with it a bit too much. 6-14 3pt. That's a lot of attempts. If he can lower the attempts and hit at 38% or above that would be awesome. I think it's possible. He was in a funk for a while, but let's see him go on a hot streak.

6/14 = 43%. I’ll let him shoot 14 threes every game if he can do that.

Other thoughts: Elimination games are really tough and we made it tougher on ourselves by blowing that lead. Now our guys will get another opportunity to experience what its like to close out against a decent team. The Thunder aren't terrible. We can grow from this. Nothing comes that easy for these guys.

There was some friction between Carmelo and the coaching staff last night. That's an interesting development. He didn't like being on the bench during that run.

FWIW, I didn't like it either. Jazz were roasting OKC by switching Carmelo onto the ball handler. When Carmelo sat they played better defense.

Billy Donovan must have checked twitter and the Portland v Jazz video at half-time because he came back with adjustments to sit Carmelo and switch all the screens.

Where is the neg button... it’s the postseason we can’t have a relaxed approach. Break out the lucky socks, Magic churros, and whatever other witchcraft we need.

One thing missing from this group is the Joe Johnson we had from last year... we’ve had some huge runs this playoff... last year when that happened we’d get the ball to JJ, he’d use the whole clock and get someone in the torture chamber and get a bucket or two.

We were all out of sorts once things got going and no one trusted anything and we got so tight. I still think we win but hopefully there is no mental carryover.

is there concern that Jazz may have been some what figured out.. I think OKC plays carmelo less then 20 minutes and play grant abrines more and switch everything on pick and roll.. Jazz have to figure this out, as if they win they play rockets, and rockets switch everything all the time.. Our offense looked scary bad with teams switching on all picks, I will be surprised if OKC doesn't do this all game.

We are missing a second volume shooter behind Donovan badly. We still can win this though.
