Try VB .. it's not bad.

VB is the reason I bought an ESB recipe kit when I bought my brewing starter kit. I thought it would be similar. It wasn't, but then I got obsessed with making ESB...and the rest is history.

Cool.. I didn't expect anyone would know what I was talking about.

I spent a couple days at the Burswood casino in Perth, AU. VB quickly became my drink of choice.

Is VB that Aussie beer? I've seen it advertised here plenty of time but just thought it was another run-of-the-mill lager, didn't realised it was special or anything.

From my experience VB would be lucky to be deemed run of the mill. Commonly referred to as vomit bombs. Australia makes quite a few great beers, but this one is not for me.

It is a run of the mill lager. I think my fondness came more from the good times I was having while drinking it than anything about the beer itself.

A guy (named Guy) used to work for me amd he was from Perth. I laughed so many times because he had a thick Aussie accent and daily people would say to him, "Fosta's.. Australian for be-uh."

He would smile and then turn around red-faced.. partially because he was so sick of hearing it and mostly because "Australians hate that piss water."

I still think GF should open a brew pub in Utah County.

So what's the deal with pubs in SLC now? Are they still mandated by the state to serve specific alcohol % beer? Are IPA's in Utah state complete garbage?
