Gamethread: Indiana Pacers @ Utah Jazz. 7PM MST

They are as much to blame as anyone. It’s been a team wide suck effort and -all the guards on our ‘deep’ bench playing like ********* that has regressed is significant.

It’s no better to blame Favors and Rubio for everything than O’Neale and Exum.
I really don't think anyone foresaw Exum and O'Neale being this impotent on offense. I think we all expected some modicum of improvement on their ends, especially in the shooting department.

I'm not say they are 100% to blame, but those two are the main factors of our offense "looking ugly". When we have Crowder and Rubio in, it looks better, but it's not like they are performing well. Crowder has regressed back to post-trade Crowder where he plays hard and does the rights things, but can't get shots to fall to save his life.

I think Rubio is starting to turn a corner this year, but we can't ask him to do this much on offense without a primary scorer to help him.

How many games have we started in a hole? Rubio (30mpg) and Favors (23mpg) play twice as much as O'Neale(15) and Exum (17.5). AND, Exum and O'Neale play a ton of blowout minutes because our starters can't do their job.

So yes, I'm not going to blame those guys for our losing. Have they underachieved? Yes, but we don't lose because them.

so what is your suggestion coach catchass?

look at these fools, any other coach would have quit by now by being supplied this piss *** roster.

The roster needs to be fixed. Favors isn't a PF anymore. The game has changed on him. Crowder isn't consistent enough to be relied upon as a starter. Given that Gobert is our most unique and valuable player, you have to build the roster around him, including his strengths and weaknesses.

rubio isn't turning any corners except the corner directly into the Chinese basketball League.

so DL goes and gets 2 PGs that can't shoot to cram the paint some more.

The worst part of the whole game was Holiday coming in and looking like prime Derrick rose and Grayson looking like... well himself... I didn’t expect us to play well tonight. When Favs and Royce were announced as starters I kind of knew it was going to be ugly AF.

but we've still lost a lot of shooting and shot creation. Even Shelvin Mack could be counted on to come in and make a few layups.

It always seem cyclical with this team. We have an OK year, and then we would bring in a 'Steve Novak' or something of that nature and it never pans out. In this case, we did the opposite and it has looked worse off.

I actually see the team doing something irritating like bringing up GLeaguers to start throwing it at the wall to see what sticks.

I don't see a lot of value in any of our guys that are touchable, like AB or Favors. I don't think Rubio had value since every team so far has a PG that's burned him.

He canceled it out by getting one that can shoot but gets lit the eff up when he’s in the game.

I thought Allen looked good...

We don’t lose because of them? What does that even mean? That them playing like **** has no impact on the game? Would them playing well have any impact?

Favors hasn’t even been bad since Crowder has been missing shots, so that argument doesn’t hold a ton of weight anymore. And Rubio has at least gone off a couple times, which I more than many players on this team can say.

Obviously I am not happy with Favors or Rubios overall performance, but your post doesn’t really make sense. And the original point still stands.

I think Favors has some value. He'd be helping in Boston. He's better than Aaron Baynes. We've just had some roster attrition. Hayward left. Joe Johnson got too old. Rodney Hood didn't step up. Those guys could create shots, make passes and draw defenders. How many guys in our current rotation can do those three things? Royce is a defensive specialist. Grayson is getting his feet wet. Crowder doesn't normally create off the dribble or shoot consistently enough.

I’ve never seen a Jazz team with so many drives to the basket and come up ... well not empty , but not even close ..

Exum is scared of contact ... O’Neal just drives and runs it back to the 3pt line , and wastes about 5 seconds doing so , then fails to shoot , hot potato’s it to someone to bail us out ...

We have a bail out offence , when Donovan/Rubio / ingles are hitting shots , it covers up our poor play .

Favours is a backup Centre , how can you have a lineup of him and Gobert , along with oneal and Rubio ?

The other teams just laugh at us ...

Rubio’s turnovers were just plain awful , I’m more than happy for Neto to start ... Thabo can start at the 4 ... and burks at the 2 whilst Mitchell is out

Snyder’s panic is rubbing off on the players ... you can see it in his face

Aaron Holiday is an undersized backup PG. Comparing Holiday to Grayson Allen is a bit of apples and oranges. Grayson is a floor spacer who won't get killed guarding wings.

Favors could help a lot of teams. I think he's very trade-able. He'd be great in Washington (depending on what's going on with Howard's health).

They are both about the same functional size. Holiday actually has a better wingspan.

And Allen is currently getting killed guarding anyone.

Allen is guarding people too closely. He's trying to get right into their body, and he's either getting blown by or getting called for fouls.
