Give credit where credit's due

The problem with this is that Ty Corbin likely isn't a part of that next season and beyond - and he knows it. They should have fired him early on and given those instructions to an interim coach. Ty is coaching for his next job. Could care less about the development of the young guys.

Per David Locke: "It's not Tyrone Corbin's job to develop players".

OK, since we've been so harsh on Corbin (and I still say he has to go), I've got to give him props for his rotation today.

Hayward - 38 mins
Burks - 38 mins
Burke - 31 mins
Favors - 31 mins
Kanter - 30 mins

Jefferson - 20 mins
Williams - 15 mins
Evans - 20 mins
Garrett - 14 mins
Gobert - 1 min

Really can't argue when the Core5 all get at least 30 mins. Evans has been playing well, so he gets time at PF vs. Gobert playing the minutes behind Favors.

Perhaps had this been the recipe from Day 14 (when Burke became the starter), I'd be happy. Why did it take THIS LONG for Corbin to finally use these players the proper amount?
Because Jefferson and Williams were in foul trouble the entire game. While these are minutes I can live with Corbin should not get any credit for them. This was all an effect of foul trouble.
.
3 or more others beat me to this. Still true though. It's pathetic that injuries and foul trouble are better at finding rotations than the head coach. Too bad the head coach does not learn from those rotations once those issues go away.

There's an echo in here.

When Ty does something worth getting credit for, most of us will give him credit for it. If he's forced to do it because of injury or fouls, then he doesn't really deserve it.

So let me get this straight when the Jazz were losing with a 1-14 record and now they are around .500. Ty still doesn't get any credit. Ty has done some good things and I have yet to hear anything from the anti- Ty crowd. I won't hold my breath waiting to hear any positive about Ty since most people hated him right after he got hired.

Have you two dug fingerholes into the armchairs on your lazyboys?

Thanks for the neg rep, franklin. And I love the comment you included: "stfu."
Lot of class. Almost tempted to rescind my policy to not give out neg reps. However, I believe in respecting everyone's opinion whether I agree with it or not.

Funny how I - as a HUGE critic of Corbin - was actually giving him CREDIT for playing the "Core5" the amount of minutes we all believe they should have been getting from the start. Yet in your blind hatred of me, you react to my praise with a neg rep.

More you post, the more I'm convinced you have something at stake in terms of Ty. Relative? Friend? Or maybe of one of the assistant coaches that would also be let go (Sanders? Lowe?).

OK, so let me fix what I said. DESPITE Corbin playing the core5 a lot of minutes, it's too little too late. He was given ONE very public mandate by Lindsey: show significant improvement defensively. The team hasn't done that. Whether it's Ty's fault or not, that was the standard Lindsey said he would be judged by. Hopefully you are related to Ty so you can take your hatred to whatever team he coaches for next (as an assisant, of course).

1-14 was because we weren't at full health, and we we had the hardesyt schedule start in the NBA. The Jazz were starting Tinsley and Lucas at point!!!!! Turning that around has very little to do with his coaching. The schedule got easier, and we got trey, jeremy and marvin back.

Unbelievable!

So after these players come into the NBA they are finished products? There is no development, no working with them on defense, offense. What do they do in practice if not to develop and learn? Oh, I guess that's the job of the assistants. Well, in that respect, then also hold Ty accountable; he was the one who hired Lowe and Sanders.

What scares me about Locke's comments is that he's a lackey for Jazz management. He'll do or say anything Lindsey and Miller want him to say since his job depends on it. I hope he's not preparing us for a Corbin contract extension.

Agree. I was never critical of Ty for the 1-14 start. Not having a PG was disastrous (and we're all grateful that happened). What has me puzzled is why Jefferson has been used so much. Certainly Corbin knows RJ WON'T be back. MW I can perhaps understand; there is a chance he returns. OK, so we had a great effort against Indiana. Congrats to Ty and the players for that one. But we've also had terrible games where you couldn't tell what the defensive or offensive strategy was. Are we guarding the 3 or the paint? Most of the time it's neither. Sorry, I DO hold the coach partly repsonsible. You can blame players for missing assignments. But there are also a lot of coaches who get their teams to overachieve, adjust for players being out, etc. Corbin is stuck playing one way, even when it's not working.

Corbin played in the nba yet none of you moronic Mormons did.....Yet yall know whats best for the team and how to get wins....LOL, must be to much inbreeding going on in Utah because this is just dummy thinking

No, it's because Ty IS a dumb **** ... or I should say he has made so many hare-brained decisions I question his judgment, and I mean one after the other without cessation. Three years of being a dumb **** is too much to take.

Did you think putting "we all" strengthened your case, Armchair Guy?

I think "we all" pretty much is close to accurate. You, Franklin, are a pretty much a minority of one. Everyone here knows it and the mods I can assure you agree that you are a big pain in the butt because you post often just to disagree with everyone else. Your Corbinitis is like a disease on this site and I hope when Corbin leaves you will join him.
