Greg Monroe

Signed a 10 day deal with the Celtics yesterday to temporarily replace Aaron Baynes who has a twisted ankle. I am somewhat stunned that the Jazz haven't done something similar when the injury bug hit. Monroe was drafted ahead of Haywood and Paul George. It just seems like the Jazz front office is stuck on not adding players or giving themselves the flexibility to do so.

Yeah, that's who we need.... Greg Monroe

Not necessarily him but the Jazz had no flexibility to go sign a player when the 3 point guards were all injured together. Or maybe they wouldn't do it because it deviated from their business model.

Have had no need for a backup big why are you talking about Monroe? Flexibility would have been nice but they put too many eggs in the Exum basket which has obviously been a mistake and well documented.

The guy is a "big name" and the Celts had a need and filled the need with the "big name." There were guys bought out that probably could have helped the Jazz down the stretch but no can do.

How about Patrick McCaw or Briante Weber. Both guys were available when injuries hit and both have a ring with Golden State. Weber is now in Europe and McCaw is with the Raptors.

Who cares were he was drafted? Not saying he does not have skills but for as high as he was drafted I would consider him a bust.

The Jazz didn't go and sign anyone when all 3 point guards were injured because nobody they could have signed would have actually got into the rotation and played. Even with those injuries. It's not that hard to understand.

The only two ways that they'll release one of their players to sign someone else are...

1) They like a player in free agency both for the team now and/or in the future more than a player that is currently at the end of their bench

2) An injury occurs to the roster and they see a player in free agency who they believe will take rotation minutes while the injured player is out.

What about Isiah Cousins playing for the Stars? 2nd round draft pick, knows the system and had a nice game last night.

We might as well dig up good ol' Pistol Pete's corpse out of the grave, bring him out of retirement, put a couple of hooks with ropes attached in his backside, hang him from rafters and check him into a game from time to time just to see what he can do.

We already have a guy on the roster that we’re doing that for.
