Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Atlanta SURVIVES! Irving with a miss and then Gee misses an easy putback. WHEW!
3/21/2012:
Toronto loses, Washington beats New Jersey, Cleveland loses, and GSW beat New Orleans. Only 22 games left. Go GSW!
That whole 4th quarter really stood out to me. With 11:12 left, Richard Jefferson hit a free throw to bring GS within 1 point, then missed the second. After that their offense became a model of inefficiency and settling for deep jumpers:I thought they looked good the other night against Minny and then wright....bombed that 30 footer. that seemed so orchestrated.
Warriors keep the pick if it is #1 through #7 after the lottery.Do the Warriors get the pick if its 7th and below? Or is it below the 7th spot?
Detroit took the lead and now thy just have the game away. Up by 3,fouled Afflalo with the and1. Afflalo misses the FT and McGee throws it down for the 1 pt lead.
Great night. Warriors win, and everyone behind them lost except for Washington (and Washington was the preferred team to win in that game). Also Phx and Minn which are both in striking distance. Feeling a little better right now than 24 hours ago.
Nuggets barely pulled it out.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Pretty much a perfect night for the GSW pick. Everyone directly below that played, lost: Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto and New Jersey. At only 11 wins, NO and Washington are irrelevant at this point. And, of course, Golden State won.
Mr. O'Connor, you can be expecting another call from Larry Riley at open of business tomorrow. Something about wanting to make a deal to renegotiate the protection on the pick. I'd make him do it now...just in case GS were to get lucky and move into one of the Top 3 spots.
If I were Kevin, I might let them keep their pick in exchange for taking Raja's contract and removing all protection next year. Chances are GS will be just as bad...Bogut can't stay healthy and Curry has chronic ankle problems. Who will they leapfrog in the West for a playoff spot? Utah will be better, Minnesota will have Rubio back. GS will be lucky to finish 11th in the WC.
KOC can use the Memo TPE to get a veteran SF this summer. He would then have two 1st's (and one a likely lottery pick) to combine with two expirings, if needed, to go after a PG at the trade deadline. Just pencil in a Top 3 protection on the pick and trade it along with Big Al or Devin for a PG. Or worst case, he'll have two shots at drafting a PG. The crop has to be better than it is this year.
Curry-Bogut-Lee is a pretty good trio. I don't expect them to make the playoffs next year, but there's no way they'll have a worse record than they do this season. Plus, the 2012 draft is too deep--we could seriously get a potential All-Star with the 8th pick. That probably won't be the case in 2013. The only way I give up the pick to them this year is if Curry is involved.
2013 is weak after about 4 or 5 .. depending who stays/goes.
