GSW Draft Pick Watch

Yep. Except this strategy finds a way to not work for them (Brandan Wright, Patrick O'Bryant, Steph Curry's ankle).

Pistons just tied GSW in the win column. Technically half a game back now.

It's probably time to give up any expectation.

Yep, but if you've got 2 options:

1. Finish 9th overall & get nothing.
2. Finish 6th overall & get Harrison Barnes.

I think every GM and every owner in this league, and every man and his dog while we're at it, would go with the 2nd option. Without much hesitation I might add.

Yeah, I think Numb's point is that they are the Warriors and there is a high chance they will be doing the same tank charade again next year when this upcoming draft pick bust.

Haha, I wish it was. That's a good point. I just think this is the best year we could get the pick from them.

EDIT: I guess it SORT OF was my point. In the sense that they should probably just stick to trying to be good and stop with the cute decision-making that plagues them.

If there's 1 thing they're good at, it's tanking. They're doing it much better than I've expected them to.

I thought their trade for Bogut was like saying "F*** You Stern"

Yeah but Raptors also won. Hopefully NJ loses so I feel better.
Yeah, Toronto's win had me worried, so nice to see GS match it.

How many more games does GS win? The only gimme left on their schedule is New Orleans @ GS on April 24, which would put them at 22 wins. The Jazz need them to stumble into a couple more wins like they did tonight.

But maybe if they have Bogut they'll get off to a great start before he gets hurt again. Then they'll gradually settle in at #10 or so.

Well the Jazz have lost 2 straight at home. If we're really going for the 2 picks, the next game will be the decision point.

This week several EC lottery teams play each other. That's never a good thing as ONE of them has to pick up a win. By the end of the week, there will likely be a 4-team tie at 21 wins and perhaps 5 if Sacramento wins both of their home games (vs. Clips nd Rockets). GS lloks like a lock for the #5 pick. The only thing I can wish for is they draft a bust, give us a top-10 pick next season and that player looks as promising as Hayward or Burks.

Looking at the standings and the schedule there are 4 teams within 2 games of the Warriors with a chance to catch them. GS has botched about 4 of their last 7 games or it would be a much wider gap. Hopefully they pull out a few surprises though.

12 games to make up 2

GS has a much tougher schedule with only New Orleans with a Lower record. They do have 13 games left. Sacramento has been playing better, but has the toughest schedule with 2 games to make up. New Jersey also is 2 games behind. Cleveland has an outside chance of catching them, but is 4 games back. Before GS's win tonight I had almost lost all hope. It is really going to come down to the wire, and it will probably be determined by a coin toss and the lottery can always change things. Every GS win is huge from here on out.

If they draft a bust, be sure to count on Curry and Bogut going down to injury early (again) and them slipping into that #5 pick (again).

Good job with the schedules.

I'd estimate Detroit and Sacramaento will win 4 games, Toronto 3 and New Jersey 2-3.
Golden State might win 1 more game.

GS can have one team pass them and still be 8th. Detroit or Toronto will definately do that, hopefully the other doesn't also. NJ has a few more to make up, I'm nt as worried about them. I don't think Sac is as much of a worry as Det/Tor. If GS wins 3 more, I think the Jazz are fine. If they win 2 more, I think it comes down to a coin toss before the lottery pick. If they win one more, I think they need one of the 8-14 to jump into the lottery. If they don't win any more, then we have a whole other year of this fun thread. Hopefully Cleveland can win a few games against the lower teams to help us out.
