That would be perfect. I would not give kanter an extension this offseason. Let him prove himself this year.
Geez I can't believe people want to pay Hayward 13 million dollars. He is a $8-9 million type player so getting him for 10-11 is how the NBA works. I just can't believe that DL is stupid enough to pay 13 million dollars for him. DL hasn't shown any stupidity so far why start now? I have faith that DL will do the right thing.
If they thought he was worth 13 why not just give it to him up front and be done with it. There are other options to replace Hayward's production if he leaves. No one player, the status of Hayward, is worth the Jazz's future financial flexibility. You overpay for Hayward and you could end up losing multiple players or you end up not being able to bring in the FA help once this team develops.
Hayward did nothing to warrant an increase from the Jazz first offer so if he really wants to stay here comeback to the Jazz and say I take the deal plus 5%. Then he can feel as though he won. Everyone moves on.
