First, their idiot son takes a samurai sword to a job interview to "impress" them, swings it at a cop, runs away, and gets shot for being a dumb ***. Rather than take accountability for being a horrible parent, the mother of this kid blames it all on race, throws more fuel on the fire of recent tensions, and effectively costs tax payers money and likely some people their jobs, livelihood, family safety, etc.

That wasn't enough for this family of morons; the apple doesn't fall far from the tree it seems.

Some idiot, let's just call him HighlandHomley, posted a picture of a cop lying dead in the road with a bullet in his forehead on his personal Facebook page. Someone, who is in dire need of minding their own business, discovered the diner where HighlandHomely worked and posted a screen shot of his post on the resturaunt's FB page. Unlike certain morons with the initials of HH, this kid took responsibility for his stupidity, and although the diner supported him, he asked to be fired amid the scandle and negativity that was being drawn to the FB page and diner.

So they canned him, made a very reasonable post explaining the situation, and it should have ended there, right?

Among those protesting Peterson’s termination was the family of Darrien Hunt, the 22-year-old whose fatal shooting in September by police in Saratoga Springs was deemed justified by Utah County prosecutors this week.

Cindy Moss, Hunt’s aunt, wrote that she was "sickened" by the restaurant’s decision.

"My sister still hasn’t been able to pay for her son’s funeral and you are giving a free meal to the guys who killed her son because they were cowards and CREATED the death of an innocent man!" Moss wrote.

"Now they’re lashing out at the restaurant for firing me," Peterson said. "I am grateful there are people who are standing up for me, but there’s no need to take it out on the restaurant. I told [Broadhead] she needed to fire me. They are great and amazing people, and they didn’t deserve any of this."

Those pesky facts keep getting in the way of stupidity.

"We’ve been turned into a political war zone, and it’s destroying our business," Dansie said.

Nice work, morons. Now someone else is losing their livelihood because you're an uninformed buffoon. Please take note, HighlandHomley's of the world, stay celibate.

Yeah, comply or die peasants!

I think it's pretty hilarious how a small town diner can get caught up in a FB "warzone."

I bet, had they explained the situation rationally, that one of their employees holds views that do not represent the views of the restaurant, that their actual customers would accept that and move on.

Now they're concerned that they're getting flack...again, on FB, for firing him.

What they should do is close down their FB page and serve people food at their small town restaurant. FB doesn't matter. Their customers matter.

Oh well, they want drama I guess. I bet it has spiced up their boring lives living in a small town and running some sort of grease pit diner.

Completely on point.

Firstly, I'm still amazed that those of age and part of a generation that has grown up during the time of social media and networking, still have a tough time connecting the dots in regards to cause and effect when it comes to online profiles. There's a saying that goes, "Everyone is on the internet." For the most part it's completely accurate. EVERYONE is on the internet. Normal folks, sports fans, politicians, police officers, killers, pedophiles, rapists, etc. Since this is the case, you must tread lightly on the internets for doing the opposite can sometimes lead to these types of social onslaughts. It happens. This dumb *** dude is learning this the hardway.

As far as the restaurant goes, GF stated it perfectly. I've re-purposed a saying to fit these types of scenarios: The greatest trick the troll ever played was convincving people that they had to react.

This couldn't be truer.

FB warzone? Please. Hyperbole at it's highest. If you're proprietorship's success is wholly based on your facebook profile, you deserve to go out of business. The lady who owns that place could have easily gone to private on her FB account or closed it down for a week. If she had instead of whining about pictures being left on the profile, this would have all blown over in a week's time. The trolls would have targeted some other place and Dave would not have posted this garbage in the forum.

Mr. Obvious. (too short to be a cap'n)

I love how you, Mr. Small business owner and successful entrepreneur, know exactly how a small town diner runs, and whether or not their facebook page is a +/- for them. I mean, you have a wealth of knowledge based on all of your dealings with small diners in California, right? Granted, I've got about the same amount of knowledge, but I didn't come in here pointing out something that isn't there -- I simply stated that stupidity is usually hereditary, (sucks for HH's kids) and innocent people suffer because of said stupidity. Just because you don't think it matters doesn't mean that it doesn't actually matter.

But then again, you're the end-all-be-all when it comes to common sense, the internet, what is interesting or not, and house cat toys; I'm not sure what I was expecting.

David,

Don't be daft.

The language I used in my post was very specific. I used qualifiers. There's no way to know any of what you're claiming but since I was agreeing with GF's post, I'm not the only one that shares the sentiment. It sucks what happened to that diner and hopefully it gets back to the regular but it could have been avoided. And, yes, I like common sense.

Are you insinuatin that chick fil a is not good?

**** you bro

Chick fil a is nasty. Gotta go with trout on this one. Seriously their flagship sandwich is a dry *** piece of overcooked chicken with a single pickle on dry white bread? I cannot believe anyone spends money on that ****.

You're sounding like babe.

Meh.

He was probably headed to prison anyway. Or was going to hurt/kill someone soon. Wasn't he arrested for some domestic dispute earlier this year? I'm tired of serial criminals. The police probably Saved tax payers money. Why fight Darwinism?

I've never been to a Chick-Fil-A. In fact, I had never even heard of it until I was in Wash DC in 2003. They didn't have any outlets in the Chicago area, nor anywhere else that I traveled. But the first time I saw it, I thought the name was really stupid, and decided I could do without their food.

I guess they first opened up in the Chicago area within the last 3-5 years.

Anyhow, to the original post in the thread...

I don't understand why anyone would think a random employee's facebook posts would be reflective of the viewpoints of the business that employs that person unless the business itself made a statement to that effect.

Just makes me think pretty much everyone has greater level of stupidity than I give them credit for.

Actually other than sushi and some national chains you are not far off base. Reno has a real dearth of good restaurants thanks to the casinos and their substandard food at overly high prices. SLC has a much better selection of restaurants.

But chick fil a sucks ***. If you are near the SLC and you choose to eat at CFA you should have your restaurant goers rights rescinded.
