Hayward Joins Elite Jazz Company

So AK never posted a 20 10 night?
Andrei Kirilenko did it 31 times.

Keep in mind Dantley played alot of PF as well - in fact Thurl Bailey early in his career played more of a SF role and Dantley that of a PF.

Why not just change the OP to "Hayward became only the 2nd shooting guard in franchise history to score at least 20 pts and grab 10 rebs, joining Jazz great Darrell Griffith"?

haha ok,

i guess the basketball reference search is a little wonky

I only searched for Guards, or Guard-Forwards. I think it has AK listed as Forward only, so he didnt show up in the results.

Basketball reference is showing AK got 20 pts and 10 rebs 11 times, through 2003-2006, which is when i believe he was still playing more PF, but im sure some of those were at the SF position.

Are some of the 31 times you are talking about other double doubles? or is basketball reference inconsistent?

either way, Duly noted and will change

The 31 games I was referring to were 20-point & 10-rebound games.
Not to get too off-topic, but I've always felt it was somewhat a "myth" that AK played his best basketball early in his career as a PF. Actually the only time he played PF fulltime was 31 games to start the 2003-04 season before Harpring went out with his acl injury. Once Harp went down, AK slid back to SF and Utah played a traditional 4 (Ruffin/Gugliotta/Moore) up front next to Ostertag. Either way, a 20&10 game from Hayward is definitely noteworthy and extremely rare from a Jazz 2-guard.

(oh and you don't need to quote me on that stat in the OP - you did all of the work and research, AD was just a minor technicality).

Future All-Star! Wait, this is the nba where talent get's overlooked and we vote in an injured Yao Ming. On the topic i think Big Al deserved a spot this year but thats the way things go. I think Hayward will have incredible career numbers, at worst be a solid player, annnndddd yeah All-Star caliber yes, can i see him being overlooked because of being on a small market team, sure. But you got the player to win Championships right? Who cares if he doesn't get to go to an All-Star game and yell for a pass while kobe shoots 100 shots

I like to give credit where it is due.
