Just my opinion, but the Allstar game was a crushing bore. I tried watching it, I really did, but blah. I'm not sure why every year some player thinks everyone wants to see him jack up a shot everytime he touches the ball and dominate the entire game(a la Westbrook 3 years running). I realize that no one wants to get hurt or exert himself too much, but progressively over the years, defense has entirely been taken out of the game, so that it's just a dunk and 3 point fest. Some may find this entertainment, I'm not one of them.
As an aside, did the coach tell Hayward to go and stand in the corner every possession, where he was routinely ignored by whatever glory hound ballhog was on the court? Was he passive by design or because he was deferring to the establshed star pecking order? It would have been nice to see him take a bit more active role, but even then, with Westbrook launching the ball everytime he touched it, I'm not sure it would have mattered. (Davis took a lot of shots also but many of these were assisted, Westbrook just shot, and shot and shot and shot, like the entire damn game was all about him.)
Waste of time.
