Of all the 31 rookies who have played at least 100 minutes this season, hayward ranks dead last in efficiency at 3.1.

He ranks 2nd to last in Offensive rating score.

But he is 15th in defensive rating.

Not really what i expected from a top ten draft pick...

It's pretty much the opposite of what many of us thought he would be. I thought he would come in, sink a couple baskets, and get killed on defense.

That doesn't seem to be the case. Although he is far from a defensive stopper, his defensive abilities are producing more results than his shooting skills. I think it all boils down to hustle and confidence. he's hustling, so his defense isn't lacking, but without the confidence in his shot, his offensive rating is suffering. I think when he finally does find his stroke, he could be a valuable contributer.

It's hard to gather anything on Hayward since he never plays. The only reason I'm not worried about it is that the Jazz are winning so who cares if he plays early.

I just wish that Hayward showed something when he gets minutes.

He showed he can grab a board, get a foul, and shoot an airball in garbage time a few nights ago.
That's "showing us something" isn't it?
It might not be the something we were hoping for.

I don't know. In the few minutes he gets, I've seen him make a good play on the ball like a block, only to have it called a foul. Everyone should know that he won't get any real PT until we need him, when someone gets injured. Or he could be used as a piece in a trade (but that would be up to you ESPNTRADECHECKERS to validate that statement).

But but but....

He dominated the summer league so obviously he's going to dominate the NBA.

And he had a sweet left handed dunk a few games ago!

He needs to get some minutes, nothing else in the world can help his confidence except that. If CJ or AK goes down, he'll get his chance.

I'm really shocked when a professional nba player shoots an airball. Hayward has done it a couple times while AK seems to do it every 2-3 games. Don't they practice? They aren't even contested...

Don't know why almost all of you were hyped about him. He just looks terrible, I'm sorry, no denying it. Only thing he has shown is he can pass, why not just get some one off church ball to do that

...Hayward is pacing himself! He's a "thinking man's" basketball player! He's absorbing all the good things the Jazz do....and will be implementing them shortly!
