It will be fun to watch.
Fun to watch or fun for you to revel in every Jazz loss?
It will be fun to watch.
Ok, so taking Haywood out of it..... Celtics get a 2nd round pick and lose absolutely nothing.
Seems kinda dumb for the celtics to say "we don't want a free 2nd round pick"

Jazz having that tpe could hurt the celtics..... could also help the celtics if the jazz got a free agent using that tpe who would have went to toronto, Milwaukee, cleveland, washington, etc etc.1. Celtics don't need a 2nd round pick. They already have more than they can use.
2. Celtics help a potential competitor. Boston needs another "star" somehow. Giving Utah $30M to freely use - without having to clear cap room - puts Utah in direct competition.
It makes absolutely ZERO sense for Boston to give Utah a TPE. Sorry to say, but if the Jazz were in the reverse situation, Utah should try to get an asset out of Team X and ask for at least a protected first.
Jazz and Celtics are after the same thing - an impact 4.Jazz having that tpe could hurt the celtics..... could also help the celtics if the jazz got a free agent using that tpe who would have went to toronto, Milwaukee, cleveland, washington, etc etc.
Again, you're forgetting that it's an asset they can use when trading with 29 other teams.
If it was just us involved, sure. But maybe Ainge wants to throw it in with another teade to improve what he gets back. A late 2nd round pick ain't worth a whole lot, tbh.

And exactlyWhat do you mean maybe Ainge wants to throw it in another trade? Trade exceptions aren't one time thing. He can do a trade with us that creates one, then he can do a trade with Charlotte that creates one, then a trade with Brooklyn that creates one... etc etc. It's NOT an asset for them.
And a 2nd pick is the usual compensation in these types of trades.
Jazz and Celtics are after the same thing - an impact 4.
I guess I'm wrong on this. I don't fully understand but oh well. Would be nice to have that tpeAgain, you're forgetting that it's an asset they can use when trading with 29 other teams.

For some reason I thought the celtics were cash strapped to the point that they couldn't go after anyone or anything at this point.Jazz and Celtics are after the same thing - an impact 4.
