How bad/good is Cody Williams?

Locke said Cody has gained 20 lbs
He said he looks like he has... He didn't put Cody on a scale. He looks a bit bigger based on pics. I wouldn't fully doubt 20lbs but its not 20 lbs of muscle or close to it.

20 pounds is too much in such a short span of time. Hate it. Gain 6-8 pounds while getting more explosive and developing your game.

Then gain, 4-8 more next offseason.
If you look at him at the start of the year and again at the end of the year he was bigger. I think it was 20 pounds since his last official measurement.

20 lbs on Cody is taking him from being a starvation victim to severely malnourished, he’s still liable to kite away in a stiff breeze.
20 pounds in a bit more then two months? We still have almost 4 months of the offseason. He will become our enforcer in the paint and will need a new nickname... something like Big Hefty.

This obsession with Cody's weight is idiotic.

The history of the NBA is full of rail-thin players who made a real impact. Some even became stars.

Cody's problem is that he doesn't have NBA talent. He won't find it in the weight room.

There was also the weird thing when he measured extremely small at the combine compared to his listed weight in college.

So if we assume he was 190 when the season started, but was 180 when he was drafted, Locke would be guessing he's around 200 lbs now

One thing we can count on is that Cody will add weight/strength: even during the season he looked (and played) noticeably stronger at the end compared to his first month. The guy lifts.

Now, in terms of developing his skills and becoming more aggressive...there is way more uncertainty in there.
Told you.

I mean if you think Cody sucks at basketball, and it seems like that's what you think, the only path for him to be a viable player is to become physically impressive and become a defensive first player who can make open shots.

His legs look thicker to me. Still extremely thin legs, but not as toothpicky
Yeah... I'd say he's in a reasonable "meets expectations" zone for muscle watch season. After summer league put another good 5 lbs on. I just want him to have enough meat on the bones so that we don't have to hear the "you can't judge him on what he is doing because he's too skinny" excuse.

Yeah, I actually don't like guys gaining too much too soon. It can lead to injuries. Derrick Favors went from 225 lbs to 260 lbs, then people wonder why he kept straining his back.
