I think it's worth mentioning that Jerry and Frank did not have to deal with major player movement in the first year, and they both had rosters with players whose numbers now hang from our rafters (Frank-2, Jerry-4!). Currently there is nobody that has earned that honor as of today. (They may in the future)

It's safe to say that if we were winning right now Ty would be a great coach, but the point of this thread is that he still *might* do that after some time.

Here's to hoping.

I like this thread. It is sane. I'm seeing other threads where people are STILL wanting to speculate about Utah hiring yet another HC in the offseason if Ty finishes poorly. I thought the fact that Utah has just barely given Ty a multi-year deal was enough to quiet that speculation but boy was I wrong.

The fact of the matter is, even if the Jazz finish poorly to end the season, the Miller family is not going to turn around and buy Ty Corbin out of a contract that they just signed him to 2 1/2 months earlier. Not to mention the fact that they'd then have to turn around and spend even more $$$ on another HC. While I don't think the Millers are hurting for money, that's the EXACT kind of idiotic move that would doom the future feasibly of this franchise in this market.

Like it or not, we as Jazz fans probably won't start to see the total scope of how Ty Corbin runs "his team" until the beginning of next year. Regardless of how Utah finishes this season, Ty needs the benefit of an offseason, input on who we're drafting and a Training Camp under his belt before we can see his fingerprints on this franchise.

To continue to speculate on our coaching situation at this point is equal parts retardation and cluelessness.

Great thread.

Amazing that none of the JF denizens have commented. Im always willing to have patience with both players and coach. Hell, I was patient with Sloan for about 16 years...
