Reasons for trading the pick are:
- the pick is protected so there's a risk, 'a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush'
- 2023 is a relatively strong draft
- we're probably not tanking next year so we need to load up and GO
- 2023 FA agency is weak and thin
So.. let's say the T'wolves pick is 15th and 76ers is 27th...
Trading up from which pick would give us the most bang for the buck?
And how much do you think we can move up?
Would Lakers do 27th + LA '27 pick for their (Pels)'s 16th pick? Who says no? Lakers get back their 2027 pick, we move up 11 spots.
Or Would Orlando do 27th + LA '27 pick for their 10th pick? Who says no? ORL has a boatload of young players, this way they get a future first. They still have their own top 5 pick.
