Intentionally left him off the poll because that would have been everybody's vote and the Thunda would neverI'd certainly give them Jalen Williams' brother
Thought exercise:29 games of data may not be that much, but it gives Hardy time to test fits and figure out rotations and the guys get to build on-court chemistry. Its not worth nothing, and would give us a better starting point to next season when we want to come out of the gate hot.
Very good points. You can achieve a lot of things without going all out competitive.Thought exercise:
(a) imagine 100% of the value that could be squeezed out of a 29 game sample in which the team was going full-tilt and obsessed with winning (without Kessler, of course).
(b) imagine how much of that value could be realized over 29 games in which the team is not obsessed with winning. Instead, players get reps in 2- or 3-man combos surrounded by complementary players that sharply reduce the chance of winning and also have their minutes limited.
If you ask me, a player, coach, and FO should be able to realize a significant amount of the overall value in a 29 game sample by going with option (b). Like at least 75% of the imagined total of option (a).
Additional note:
I'm not overly concerned with a hot start next year. It will take time.
