I feel bad for the jazz fans who are surprised by this loss.
I’m at the point where I’m not really concerned about playoff seeding anymore. I’ve seen far enough into our heart problems... and I’ll confirm in advance that there isn’t a deep run in this team, regardless of seeding.Raps are really good and a tough matchup. We did miss a ton of contested layups (it felt like). Lowry is just a *************... he kills us all the time. On two of those long threes I knew they were dropping as soon as he put them up. He does so many things (some of them BS flopping) that help you win. Always liked that guy.
But, yeah I didn't expect us to win at all... I thought it was a 50/50 game at best, but we clearly haven't turned the corner all the way and all year we have struggled against good teams. I was laughing when people were talking #2, #3 seed again. If we are lucky we can avoid Houston... that's all I'm kind of hoping for. I think we could beat them... maybe... I'm just so sick of those guys.
I wonder if the front office informed him they aren't willing to supermax him and hes been sulking since.Rudy can barely contain his emotions at times recently. I wonder if that bleeds over into the lockerroom, practice, etc.

If true, it would obviously be super troubling on multiple scalesI wonder if the front office informed him they aren't willing to supermax him and hes been sulking since.
I was in the "he deserves some sort of max no matter what" camp. This year the most troubling thing for me is not health or catching the ball or some other thing, but the fact that he's had so many games where he doesn't noticeably have a positive impact on the game. In years past he's picked his spots on occasion.. or had a bad game or two... this year it seems like he's had way too many nights where he is not into it.If true, it would obviously be super troubling on multiple scales

His physical attributes and athleticism are obviously his huge skills... but his fire, motivation, mental attitude were key to doing the hard things he is forced to do on a nightly basis. With money and success come comfort... and I wonder if that fire is still there.
I ain't trying to trade dude at all... I ain't saying we shouldn't re-sign him... I'm just nervous about that number.
They would never tell him they aren't supermaxing him though... what would the purpose of that be? I think its likely that Rudy is kinda feeling unappreciated by our guards willingness or ability to find him on the roll.
Joe was the only one who was effective driving last night... and I think it is because of the threat of the pass. They knew he could get the ball to Rudy so they hugged Rudy instead of going to Joe... on DM and others they can come over and help because they gonna shoot almost every time.
I think his offense is important... last night Joe got wide open shots at the rim... they decided to play Rudy instead of Joe. Joe also has the timing on the pick and roll figured out so he's more of a threat. On everyone else they collapsed and we didn't find Rudy or the shooters (we had some kick outs).Rudy was better when he knew his place and played his role. Defense and rebounding. That's it. He's not some offensive powerhouse no matter what he thinks. I mean, the man can barely catch half of the passes thrown his way. But he sure likes to complain about the lack of touches he gets.
To me, he is an above average player due solely to his defensive abilities but depending on the return, I would be more than open to trading him.
Rudy has always been a complainer, and it's getting worse. I wonder why.Rudy has 5 fouls. Game is close. Og does something to provoke a response from Rudy. Rudy is disqualified or ejected. Strategic move by Toronto, Rudy has to be smarter.
YesdI must be the worst typer ever.
Rudy wants the superstar treatment imo. Our team will never get that. They need to literally ignore the refs and just play. And Quin needs to ride the refs to the tune of a technical every single game if he must. But he won't and they won't. So the bad calls and the whining will continue apace.Rudy has always been a complainer, and it's getting worse. I wonder why.
What if Rudy asked for a meeting and demanded to know what they're plans were?I was in the "he deserves some sort of max no matter what" camp. Not “always.” And I wouldn’t call all of his outspoken moments over the past couple of seasons “complaining” (in the sense you’ve used the word here), either.Rudy has always been a complainer, and it's getting worse. I wonder why.
I oversimplified Rudy's animated reactions to calls and non calls. He doesn't do it every time but he's has always done it more or less. The Toronto broadcasters were mocking him last night when he put his arms over his face near the end. It was pitiful. It's just getting worse. Not “always.” And I wouldn’t call all of his outspoken moments over the past couple of seasons “complaining” (in the sense you’ve used the word here), either.
I'd say lets hold that conversation after the season... if he insisted I'd likely lie my *** off or be super vague. I don't think Rudy would do that... I think this has much more to do with him not getting the ball or guys just being a little selfish. What if Rudy asked for a meeting and demanded to know what they're plans were?
Has the timing/chemistry on the floor with Mitchell improved in any noticeable way this year? If so, my pessimism is really hiding the evidence. I don’t see much of any improvement. And obviously Mike has almost zilch of this. I’d be frustrated, too.I'd say lets hold that conversation after the season... if he insisted I'd likely lie my *** off or be super vague. Quin needs to go after the refs a bit more and tell the players let me do that. Last night when Mike got the BS offensive foul for getting the guys hand off of his shoulder... it took away and and-one and was total BS... Lowry then straight armed a guy on the next play and nothing... that is the moment you set the tone.Rudy wants the superstar treatment imo. Our team will never get that.
