This is classic local media homerism. I like Locke. I think that he's a great play-by-play. His radio broadcasts are orders of magnitude better than the Boler/Harpring tard-off. however a huge blind spot for him is his passion. It clouds his objectivity--makes him say in all seriousness that this season has been a success, when by every measurable statistic outside of 3-pt shooting this season has been a total failure.

The Heat haven't had anything to play for since their streak got snapped.
The Spurs have never had 82 games that matter, Pop doesn't even fly Duncan/Ginobili/Parker on every road trip.
Having all 82 games matter is not necessarily a good thing. In fact it proves that your team is totally mediocre. Of course you'd rather be the Thunder than the Bobcats. But I'd rather have been the 2006-2008 Sonics/Thunder than the Jazz right now.
