I Don't Want Clarkson Back

Depends on how much he wants for that extension and what alternatives we have for not bringing him back. JC is definitely one of the best options for our MLE unless Wood is available. Other guys like Justin Holiday, Dunn or Shaq Harrison aka "defense specialists" should be available for minimum deals. So getting these guys to strengthen our bench depth doesn't interfere with our process of resigning JC.

We were good at Defense not so long ago and we’d watch games slip away from us when our bench scored 8 points, but hey, the Defense was GREAT!

This is simple: You don’t win NBA titles without being able to score. Period. I’ll take a great Offense with a middle of the pack Defense every day of the week. Also, I actually think JC’s worst attribute was that he knew almost all of the bench production was on him and quite often he’d try and do too much. With Bogey back, it improves that chances that JC is sharing the court with an extra scorer which gives him more room to operate, and removes some of the scoring pressure off his shoulders.

I REALLY wanna see him return.

Also, Jalen Harris is going to be a much better NBA player than JC and it seems like he can be had in the 40s/50s of this draft.
And Cassius Stanley will come in and give us what Mike did this year... see anyone can say wild ****.

Holiday and Dunn will not get minimums bruh... they will be closer to full MLE. Shaq maybe... but even then I'd pay him twice the min on a multi year deal.

Then let’s get him and sign JC and move him later if that’s what’s best. Letting JC walk is a straight-up mistake.

It's not what we want but what JC wants at this point. He has a decent market and teams with cap space will be after him. We do need to figure out plan B in case we lose him, and that decision needs to be made quick

We need to add one perimeter defender and one big... any more than that and we don't have playing time. We might draft one of the needs and use taxpayer MLE on the other... or you can sign a backup center for the minimum and get a lower tiered three and D guy like Shaq or Sterling Brown or Bazemore.

The big pivot move is if you want to take a swing and trade Mike.

What team with space is coming for him? Detroit, Charlotte, Atlanta, or NY? None really make sense. He's in the MLE tier market. if he gets more its because we did a sign and trade imo.

Holiday maybe but both Dunn and Shaq should be fairly gettable. Dunn comes with some serious injury risks and I doubt any team would want to sign him to multi year guarantee deal. But i agree with you on Harrison. If we can sign him to multi-year for something a bit more than just the min, we'd jump on it.

These lotto teams are the ones that scare you the most. Who knows how many more overpriced contracts these teams FOs are willing to throw

I think Dunn will find a BAE or taxpayer MLE somewhere but there will be some guys that end up finding the market fairly cold.

Detroit gonna tank, NY doesn't want multi year deals... Atlanta... maybe. Charlotte gonna get Russ and JC not really a fit. I think those teams are aiming for younger guys.

I do agree sometimes teams do stupid **** and it will hurt good teams. Like everytime the Kings have space I end up saying "Corey Joseph is a good signing but at like $5M not 13M." So maybe you are right.

I understand that JC is not perfect but he is basically a "one person second unit" on his own. With our depth problems it's a perfect solution to keep him for now.

There is something simple and beautiful about having him go out and carry the team on offense with the bench units. every now and again he goes nuclear and wins you a game by himself. He's pretty friggin consistent too.

Not so high on him cuz he had some recurring MCL issues that can really mess with your lateral quickness that you need as a perimeter defender. It could be a reminiscent of the Conley deal, when you aren't getting something that you thought you’d be getting.

Re-sign him. Bring Udoh back. Dude is cheap, really ****ing good on d, knows our system, and can cover up these defensive concerns @Saint Cy of JFC has. Those two moves, organic growth with Brantley and Morgan, and using whatever else we have left of MLE and/ BAE to get the best defensive guys who can do a little bit of everything else (Shaq?) and we gotta hella squad.
