What's new

I want Rondae Hollis Jefferson

Shhhh. You gotta learn to play along. You see, what you do is wait for Batman to show up and complain. Then we all just discuss the subject of the thread as if we never said anything about not making new threads about draft prospects, or we all discuss it and decide that this particular thread is ok as an exception. Then you just sit back and wait for batman to go bat **** crazy. Good times for all!

Should have sent this as a private message.

What is the history of guys his age learning how to shoot? There are a few but there are many many more who don't.

I feel like there are a lot of guys we could add that will be good players that wont help us with our team deficiencies. Im ok with that. As long as we dont draft trey burke over giannis because we drafted a need. Based on what locke said, if you believe him, which i do because he has a good eye for talent and i think hes fed info from jamz scouts, i think rhj and lyles fit the bill.

He would easily be a top 10 pick if he could shoot even a tiny bit. He would probably be a top 7 pick if he was even a decent shooter. Dude is better than Johnson/Winslow other than the fact he is an awful shooter.

His shot has mechanical flaws, but nothing obscenely awful like MKG.

I would watch Arizona games to watch Johnson, but usually come away more impressed with RHJ. Near elite athlete with elite motor and length and a very good basketball IQ. I would give him a very low bust rate for being a top notch defensive player in the NBA.

There are few examples of athletes that cant shoot that develop a shot. Exum, and Lenord are two athletes that developed a shot quickly in the league. There are players like Ronnie Brewer that seem to never learn to shoot. That being said his defense on our team would bring is to a new scary level. Plus, his athleticism wow.

I'd like him as a backup.

To Joe Ingles.

In other news....Locke has a basketball man crush on the Rondai-Hollis-Jefferson

In other, other news...I think Roadi-Hollis-Jefferson should be nicknamed "The Hyphen".

If his shot can be corrected, and the coaches believe that it can. Than I would take him at 12 or trade down. His non stop motor and athletic ability is out of this world. Not to mention his no fear mind set.

I'd draft him for the shimmy he does before shooting free throws... It makes everyone happy.

I'd say if we can't move up in the draft and Johnson or Kaminsky aren't there I'd be willing to trade down and pick him up later along with other assets. I think at worst he's an Iman Shumpert type. If he learns to shoot he'll be really freaking good... Just like every poster has said.

That would be interesting, trading down to the late teens, grabbing RHJ and getting another asset.

This team needs shooting though and that's not what he brings to the table.

I don't like drafting for need... It leads to mistakes and by time the player is a useable player the team needs may be different. I agree with drafting for projected long-term needs though. But I agree he's not a shooter and it might create issues.

I think I like him better than most people like him... to the point that I wouldn't even be upset if we draft him at 12.

Utah needs shooting though. With Exum and Gobert playing significant minutes, I just can't see us targeting a player who can't shoot.

Do whatever you have to do to get a top prospect in the lottery, then look to burn 2nd round picks and buy a later 1st if he falls far enough. Make a play for a potential star early on, and grab the defensive specialist later if you're so inclined. Then hope he becomes Gobert 2.0 and teams stop selling you picks.
