Not the first time Corbin has stubbornly stuck with starters in a situation where Utah's depth would have almost certainly helped the team. I don't know if there is some unwritten rule about this or what, but our wings were useless and Favors was pretty much gassed in the OTs. CJ and Burks would have been much more effective breaking down that zone too.

Also Sap's last two plays trying to win seemed to have no backup plan for the inevitable double team. Nobody moved, no cutters, nothing. Just four guys watching Sap barrel into a tough situation. Ought to be able to draw up something better than that, Ty.

Hopefully Corbin can improve on this game. He needs to do a better job identifying matchup problems/advantages.
 
our coach, 'the turtle' corbin, made way too many mistakes. i don't get the reason why to give hayward and favors the whole last 20 minutes in the game to play. even cj miles as a chucker is a better option than hayward, at least kid has confidence and would shoot the ball late games. aside from millsap, we had no one who could score, no other option. we needed more burks, cj and kanter in overtime, even if two of them are rookies. favors passes the ball well but won't be able to do more than trying to dunk the ball on every single position. bell is 40 years old, hayward sucks and harris can't hit a free throw to save his life. i don't get why all this guys got the whole last 20 minutes in during the last part of the game, maybe someone can explain me. it was really embarassing to lose against a horrible team like the raptors, what a disgusting feeling. but keep giving burks and kanter zero playing time, 'turtle' corbin.... hayward, favors and bell will save you.

Marion is drooling already waiting for matchup with Hayward again... another season high coming.
 
hayward got 37 minutes, on 1-9 shooting, scoring 2 points. can 'the turtle' corbin explain me, why burks again, only got 5 minutes? what a horrible coach. put in cj and burks, at least they have confidence and are not afraid to score late in games... what a joke!
 
It could have been Howard or CJ or both. But you can't just sit there and watch 2 overtimes of Bell and Hayward playing hot potato. Casey stacked the D against Sap. He took away penetration from Harris. So you have to have at least one wing who can create their own shot on the floor.
 
Millsap or Howard should be starting at the 3 vs. Dallas. Hayward will be ok, he works hard. But he isn't a post defender yet.

HIndsight is 20 20.
1. The starters had a great start to the game, and the subs lost the lead. Corbin actually went with the players at the end who had played better up until then.
2. Also, it's hard to justify minutes distribution based on the contingency of a double overtime.
 
Does any1 know how serious BigAl's injury is?is he going to play tomorrow?and can someone please start a game-thread for tomorrow

But in all seriousness, I had a bad feeling about this game somehow.

Ok so how is Hayward going to learn to defend if he does not play this year against guys like Marion. Again we are not looking at a championship this year. The young guys need to play and if Burks is the real deal that means Hayward will need to play the 3. Oh year Howard was awesome last night by the way.
 
I'm a big Howard fan but if I had to name 1 single reason why we lost yesterday that would be Howard's play. He was totally out of sync with the rest of the team, taking bad shots, making bad decisions while Toronto cutting point deficit. Instead of having game coming to him he kept forcing the issue.

It happens. The guy is coming off of an injury, and he's only played with this team for less than 20 games anyway.
Look for him to take it strong next game.

There are about 500 posts here about the game on a dozen threads.
Not one person talked about what happened when the jazz lost the big lead in the first half.
