Is Al Jefferson part of the team's long-term future?

I totally agree with this but there is something else that gets lost in the hole that is Jefferson. If Jefferson learns to be an effective passer out of the post (which I have a lot of doubt that he can do that), then it will actually create better/easier shots for himself down the road.

Neg rep me all you want but the differences between Big Al and Pau is the fact that Pau plays great team defense and is a willing passer from anywhere on the floor.

The problem with your thinking is that DWill caught on quickly to Jefferson and his losing ways and he was done with it 15 or so games into the season. Unfortunately DWill is now in a situation that his only options are to defer to players that have a losing mentality.
 
I want to trade Al but not this season, hear me out...

1) This condensed season should be about the young core learning how to play in the NBA & how to play in Coach Corbin's system.
2) Al is far better than Favors but I like Al's tutelage with Favors. He worked out with in him in CA during the off-season, they share southern-roots, & I hope Favors learns how to dominate the post like Al.
3) Holding onto Al until teams next year miss out on D12 may make us a great & more valuable trading partner (ie, Jefferson/Harris for Rondo this Summer?)
4) Kanter is the new Millsap. He's all motor, all the time! I think "The UnderKanter" is the youngest player in the NBA so let's not burn him out (he didn't even play in college)!
5) Yes, Burks needs to be playing ahead of Raja! Especially because Harris is more of a scoring-point.
6) Howard brings in an mentality missing from this team (what Raja once had in PHX), thus exiling CJ to a bench-player forever.
7) From what I've seen, I think Hayward is a perfect 6th-man in the NBA (Burks @ 2, Howard @3).
8) Hopefully if Favors develops a solid post game, a stretch-big (Memo) would be a perfect fit into out Favors-Millsap-Kanter rotation for 2012-13 !
 
It is clear that Favors has physical talent way beyond anything Al could conceive of. At some point, Favors will be "the guy" and Al will need to be traded. No room on one team for 2 number ones. At that point in one or two years, we need to trade Big Slow for a dynamic shooter. We are still woefully lacking in real shooters.

I will judge Al Jefferson after this group learns to flex, if they ever finally do. If they actually learn to play off Al Jefferson in the post correctly, and if Al doesn't respond by passing over the top, then I'll personally start a thread claiming Numberica and KrazeeEyezKilla by far the two brightest minds on this board.

This is why the lineup with Hayward, Burks and Watson along with AJ was so effective. With 3 play-makers on the floor he would really shine. And we would win far more games.
 
Favors's offensive ineffectiveness was on display last night against a Bogut-less Bucks team. It should tell you something when he can't get off a go-to move against that team. I'm fine with Al (at 30min/game) until Favors has a move or two. Then, he needs to go. I'm guessing (with others) that'll be next offseason.

What ever happened to the Millsap SF experiment? I'd still like to see all three (Millsap, Favors, Jefferson) on the floor together for a few minutes.
 
The guy has been a black hole and passed up many opportunities to pass out to someone else that is wide open for 3.... You have to admit though he has had a couple stretches where he was unstoppable at times.
