Is Lebron bad for our youth?

It's not just LeBron. It's an attitude borne of helicopter parenting, Kindergarten graduation ceremonies as elaborate as high school ones, everyone getting a trophy, and narcissistic primary communication channels readily adopted by the youth of today (specifically, social media).

EDIT:

GET OFF MY LAWN!

....yep, and it all started with Ali, the "self proclaimed" greatest of the world!

"Ali was able to — allowed to — popularize and commercialize trash-talking, name-calling and chest-pounding — something we’ve never recovered from — as few in the media wish to be identified as uncool, to knock something not in society’s best interests, applauding acts of bad-is-good they’d never encourage in their own."

"Many people may not know that LeBron James was a highly contested addition to the 2008 “Redeem Team” that eventually won the gold medal in the Beijing Olympics. Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski and USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo felt LeBron’s behavior in the 2004 Olympics and 2006 World Championships was “immature” and “disrespectful,” and they worried greatly about adding him to a team who set out to restore Team USA’s legacy on the world basketball stage. Ultimately, executives at Nike told James that the NBA felt no obligation to include James on the 2008 team, and unless he changed his behavior towards coaches and teammates, he wouldn’t be making the trip. LeBron and his teammates won by an average of 32 points per game, and defeated Spain 118-107 in the Gold medal game."

A guy who wanted to win a title and did it.

Then he went home to bring a title to his hometown.

A guy who is willing to pass and would rather win than shoot it 40 times a night.

A guy who is still with the mother of his children.

A guy who hasn't been arrested.

A guy who hasn't been involved in drugs or off the court incidents.

He is the closest thing to the perfect role model for children today.

To bang on LeBron is...a bad example for our kids. He should be put on a pedestal.

Chris Rock would have a field day with this.

lol someone has too much time on their hands ...

Actually, I'm a big Lebron fan, have always been, and I wanted him to win because of the relentless crap he has to endure. Even I was disgusted with his interviews after game seven. He doesn't always talk like that, thankfully, but it was hard to listen to.

Lebron peppered his victory speech with expletives. One would think that with thousands of young children watching on T.V. and in attendance he would cater to them a little.

You are trying a little too hard. Most people swear. It's ok. If your kid hears LeBron swear he won't grow up to be an alcoholic or a rapist or an analrapist.

Just curious, but do you let your kids be fans of Malone?
