Is Paul Millsap's future at Small Forward?

Someone needs to explain to me what the difference between Millsap and West is. Solid players, neither are really All Star level players, but you can definitely win with both playing power forward as long as you have the right guys alongside them. I have no idea what Hornets fans think of West, but they probably don't have even 1/3 of the size complaints Jazz fans do because he's been playing next to Okafor for years.

West is probably about 3 inches taller. A little easier to guard most PFs. Dont think West's rebounding numbers are to great this year though.

Should Favors develop into a starter Millsaps future is as are 6th man or traded. End of story.

I don't understand how people on this board can think he can play on the wing still.

Use Millsap/draft picks in a trade for a quality sg this summer.

He's not big enough to hold his own against the better power forwards in the west. And he doesn't have the ability to guard opposing small forwards on the perimeter. Love his deflections this year but consistency and rebounding have been a problem. He still has value, though, but would like to see the Jazz package him to get a shooter. Not a chucker, we already have that in CJ Miles.

Millsap, as many have mentioned, should come off the bench, where he flourished in the past seasons. Reading through these posts is quite funny, as some of us said he's too slow for a SF and some said he's too short for a PF... the thing is, it's both true!! He was great in the second unit where he can be the main scorer, raise the energy level of the team and make hustle plays. As a starter, he is not doing what he used to, and that hurt us.

Putting him on the bench to start the game is not an insult at all in the new ages of NBA, where Ginobili, Odom, Terry, Crawford are coming off the bench because it helps the team more.

West has an enormous wingspan at 7'4", with his jump shot, its not hard to see why he has made it to all star in this league. I think West is the absolute ceiling for Millsap, which is certainly not a bad thing,

I agree. That's why I don't think he's a starting caliber PF or SF in this league. He's a classic tweener. I really think he's the next player shipped out.
