It's all about that shot selection, doe:

Our record in games where DM shoots 42% or more: 17-2
Our record in games where DM shoots under 42%: 6-16
Our record in games where DM is a DNP: 1-3

Part of it is hot shooting but I think part of his improvement is he seems to have better shot selection now that he’s playing more with the ball in his hands.

Also noticed him pulling up for the 15 footer more which is a better shot when the paint is clogged and you are throwing up a contested floater.
